I have been a client of the L’or Salon since it opened in 2014. Before that, I have been a client of two of the three owners of the salon for nearly 25 years. Today, even though I have long since moved from D.C., I take a plane and fly across the country to see Nami at least once a year. I believe she may the best stylist in the country, and she has perfected the Japanese thermal conditioning treatment. Beyond that, Nami has become a trusted personal friend for whom I have the highest respect and admiration.
The salon is extremely clean in a beautiful area of Rockville. Tools are sanitized frequently. Nami is frankly OCD about cleanliness, as am I. In our post-Covid era, this is very important.
The staff is very friendly, and they go out of their way to welcome their clients. They know everyone’s personal story and make customers feel like family. I am especially happy to support the salon because it is owned, operated, and staffed by the most diverse team I ever have encountered in the beauty industry.
Nami will take the time that you need to give you flawless hair, whether you are seeing her for a haircut, color, updo, or treatment. For example, if you have long, wavy hair, expect to spend at least five hours in the salon undergoing the Japanese thermal conditioning treatment. But your hair will be straight, shiny, and strong, when you emerge from the salon, and the treatment will last for the life of that hair. You will need to be treated again when significant new hair growth occurs, but most people will not need more than 1-2 treatments per year.
On a personal note, Nami is friendly but not intrusive. She is discrete, trustworthy, and sophisticated. Nami takes the time to listen and respond to each client’s personal preferences. She will make recommendations, but she is not overbearing. She is fair-minded about pricing. She takes good care of her clients because it is a reflection of her own character but also because she genuinely cares. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Nami, and I fully intend to be a lifelong client.
I am proud to refer friends and family member to Nami, Victor, Paul, and Elba at the L’or Salon because they are exceptionally good at what they do. They care about their clients. And they work incredibly hard to get the last hair in place. If you are looking for perfectionists who will take the time to create lovely hair, then the L’or Hair Salon is the salon for you.

I have taken the time to write this review because I have longtime personal experience with Nami and the team at the L’or salon, and they have earned my loyalty. The L’or salon is a small business that is excellent at its craft and deserves to be supported.

I came here for the first time today and Paul gave me the best hair cut I’ve ever had! The cuts are pricey but worth it. Feeling very confident in my new hair!
I came in with straight hair about 6 inches below my shoulders and asking for a trim of about 3 inches off the bottom. I left with a chin length “Rachel” haircut that is the complete opposite of what I wanted. It may be the worst haircut I’ve ever had and it cost me $120. I would have gladly paid that for a pampering experience but I was insulted for not coloring my hair and was asked to stand for the haircut. Even the water smelled like sulfur during the wash.
I am a stay at home mom to a one and three year old which means I don’t have the time or extra money to spend on myself. I left in tears and with even less self esteem than I came in with.

I have been going to L'Or consistently since 2017. They are always welcoming, eminently knowledgeable in there work, and I always leave feeling refreshed. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

After having bad experiences, in a couple of hair salons here in Rockville, I finally found professional and certified people in Highlight, I am also amazed, with the products they used, the most innovative and advanced, the chemical they put in my hair, It is not abrasive, it does not damage the hair and it has no smell, all the people in this hair salon are very kind and respectful, but in my case I received attention from the professional stylist Victor, he is a Lord, with incomparable attention, I loved it, how He listened to me and understood what I wanted to do to me, from the moment I arrived, he inspired confidence in me and I felt an energy that gave me peace that everything would turn out well. Victor is very professional, with extensive experience, certified in haighlight and products best and most importantly very aware of the cost of the service, it is incredible after bad expensive experiences, I have found someone, with all these valuable qualities. Victor, too, I want to congratulate you for the noble and humane treatment you gave to the elderly and sick lady who was taken to you while I was waiting. Thank you all, because you strive to give your best, in this hair salon, you can appreciate a wonderful peace and without the smell of strong chemicals.Services: Blowouts
