The only problem I had was that on the first day of my appointment which was at 1pm, they came late at about 1:45pm, other than this everything went well. Their workers who came another day to cut down the tree came on time and were very professional. These workers did an excellent job. They clean up after their work and also grinded the stump.”

Kim met with us a few weeks ago and then designed a beautiful garden from scratch on what was a barren portion of our front yard. She came this morning to advise the workers (Rudy & his colleague) on all of the details. Then Jimmy managed the work to achieve the design. “Perfection! From the moment I first contacted John Lee to the Sunday afternoon they finished our oriental garden my husband and I knew we would receive five star treatment and results. I happened on this company when doing a nationwide search of oriental garden design companies and Lee's Oriental Landscape Art popped up. I was thrilled to find that it was local in the DMV and reached out to John with a few questions. He immediately responded and thus began a one year communication that ended with a back yard renovation to which I would give ten stars if that were an option. The initial drawing John provided told us we were likely to like our new space; after working with him to perfect the design based on special drainage needs, personal preferences and some soil and terrain challenges, we ended up simply loving it! The final outcome is a magical garden that could not be improved upon, both in the day and at night. The up lighting is superb and highlights the special nature of the plants and trees John selected. Our accent boulders, handpicked by John, are already the envy of many of our neighbors and we feel like no one could have understood and interpreted our preferences into a more unique and gorgeous garden.<br><br>Despite his careful selection of plants, trees, statuary and materials, John was open to our (very) few requests for (very) small tweaks to his design and he is a good collaborator. He and his team are incredibly hard working, efficient and committed to their schedule. They arrived promptly each day, tidied up and showed up again the next day on time. We were astonished at how quickly such an elaborate project could be completed and found it very different from the much longer time periods other contractors in our neighborhood take to complete smaller projects. When John first gave us the estimated time to completion we were skeptical that something this beautiful could emerge after such a short time but he said they were efficient and he was definitely on the mark!<br><br>I could go on and on about this company, and likely will as visitors comment on its beauty, but for now will simply say that my husband and I unequivocally recommend him to anyone looking for a unique and magical result, no matter the current condition of their space! We are already thinking of other projects in our future and are looking forward to working with John and his team again.”

It involved removing most of the grass out front, leveling and re-grading the area and then planting new sod. It came out beautifully. We couldn't be happier. A few flagstones had come off our walkway from work done by a previous contractor. Mike very graciously offered to replace those with better ones as part of the bigger work at a nominal price.”

“Dan Law and Terry Psaltis of Garden Gate just gave us an extensive makeover of problem garden beds surrounding a house with serious drainage problems. They sent Isaac with Daniel and Nino — experts and hard-workers who take pride in their work — and THAT is how you will get a superior product! The team would include Lazaro and Alan when more people were needed. From stonework to putting in drains and contouring and grading land so water finally drains properly, they set the stage for future plantings, and mulched and filled in sod so the house already looks manicured. Bonus was they removed leftover tree roots so up-coming electric cabling and irrigation piping would go fast and easy (and much cheaper). Finally, the whole job went faster due to efficiency and an orderly plan of attack. You just can’t find such expertise anywhere or trust a great outcome!”
