I had went to this hair braiding service on Thursday the 18th at my knotless braids didn't look good when I left this salon after about a week my hair looked terrible. I had wrapping it up every night and putting in moose and everything and it still look terrible. I contacted the owner to see if she could possibly either redo them or just give me a refund and refuse to give me a refund and end up hanging up on me and told me that she cannot do a refund at all regarding anything, and that it wasn't her work in it with my hair I refuse to go back to this place and I will be filing the proper paperwork to get my reason I spent almost $200 on my hair and I want my refund.

Asked for small individual braids, noticed she was moving up my head fast, she gave me a mirror, I requested smaller braids & partings. I assisted removing the braids to keep her braiding but making the adjustments at the same time. There was a braid I could not get out, "GLUE"!! So she said let me help, she grabbed the scissors and cut the braid along with some other Braids. I said, I hope you didn't cut my hair , she said no. I told her to braid 2" past my natural hair. (insures hair is all braided in). Two weeks later I removed a braid due to tension. I lost 1.5" of hair because she glued my hair to the braiding hair. Sent the pic & called, the conversation did not go well .... She denied using glue. Two months later I'm removing my braids, OH MY GOD, this lady continued using (nail) glue on my braids, tied/knotted my hair within the braided hair. I clearly told her not to use glue on my hair. Mind u I am a certified braider thru the state of Md, have the required1500 hrs of Cosmetology training from the Salon Professional Academy of Wash, DC, and shared this info w/ her before she braided my hair. (hint: I know/do hair also). I rocked these raggedy braids for 2 months. I said R.A.G.G.E.D.Y, the braids looked the par to an untrained eye but trained eyes know better. I'm getting 7 + hrs sitting & $$ worth although I am dissatisfied with her work. She would've been better off declining the job if she wasn't gonna put forth the effort. Poor tension, uneven distribution of hair, unbalanced braids, very unprofessional (on phone) while rendering services, does not follow client request. Had she braided 2" beyond my natural hair, I could care less about the glue or the tied knots, still the braids weren't the neatest. When u provide a braider/ stylist instructions on how u want ur hair they should honor. This is ur profession walking out the door. I did receive plenty of compliments from untrained eyes but will not recommend ur shop. LIKA, Be Accountable for your actions!! STOP using nail glue to secure braids. Create "small" knots beyond the clients hair & not within the hair. Place glue on the fake hair & not the natural.

When I was looking to get my hair done I came across this salon upon coming in the woman who was doing my hair had her daughter blow dry my hair which was unnecessarily painful she kept hitting my head with the blow dryer my braids which were 10 corn rolls turned out excellent great job on the craft except for the fact that they have small bald spots at the back of my neck as well as my hairline she pulled my hair extremely tight it was unbearable I have taken my hair out after 7 days because of the pain... again great work but not worth the pain

I've been a customer at Heritage Braiding for some quite a few years. My most recent visit was yesterday 04/14/21 and the Owner, Gloria braided my hair. I asked for FIVE medium braids and 4 small braids in between each medium. Well she obviously gave me what SHE wanted me to have which was 5 HUGE braids, 1 medium braid and 5 small braids. When asked why the braids are so large and differ in size, she told me I didn't have enough hair for the final braid that was dangling because it was too big (a bogus excuse as to why she MESSED up). NOOO, She just didn't part it correctly. However, I asked if I can come back for correction she coldly told me NO. I paid via CASH APP. For some reason she doesn't allow customers to pay via credit card. I sent a request for a refund and heard nothing back. PLEASE STOP SUPPORTING THIS PLACE!!!!!

I found these ladies on Yelp and am so grateful I did. I am always anxious about going to any salon. Seriously, the whole process usually stresses me out. My experience here was different. The shop was clean with natural light. The TV wasn't blaring. There's parking onsite. No loud phone calls in my ear. The job was done quickly and efficiently with regular checks on my level of satisfaction. I'll definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone looking for some peace when they get their hair done. One note, they don't take cards. There's and ATM in the market a few doors down from the shop, and one in the nearby gas station.
