Nice luxurious salon. I believe they cut men’s hair too. It is well lit, smells good. Parking is accessible on the side of the road and in the big building behind the shop.

I recently had a balayage appointment. While I don’t have any issue with the balayage technique itself, unfortunately, the way it was applied didn’t turn out well. The highlights are noticeably uneven—one side of my head has much more balayage than the other—and the color is inconsistent, with some parts lighter and some darker.
At the salon, I wasn’t given a full view of my hair (no mirror to see the back), so I didn’t realize how uneven it was until later. Still, I told Sahar right away that I didn’t like how it turned out and asked if she could apply a darker color over everything. She said the only solution was to change the toner and try again. Even after the second toner, I was still unhappy with the result.
I didn’t want to argue, so I left quietly, but I’ve waited about a month to see if I’d change my mind—and I haven’t. This just isn’t what I wanted.
The one positive thing I will say is that my hair feels healthy and undamaged, which shows Sahar uses high-quality products. I truly appreciate that.
This review is just my honest experience and I hope it helps others when making their decision.

I’ve been searching for a great hairdresser ever since I moved to the area seven years ago, and after trying many salons across the DMV, I can confidently say Diego and his team are the absolute best! I’ve been to the salon about four times now, and every visit has been a 10/10 experience — from the haircut to the exceptional customer service. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the entire staff is not only professional but also genuinely friendly and happy to be there. I’ve never had a single unpleasant experience. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for quality and a team that truly cares about their clients!

Chrissy has been my stylist for over a decade, and this is my favorite salon I’ve followed her to! She knows my hair inside and out - more importantly, she knows what my willingness and skill on styling my own hair is, and points me away from fussy cuts and towards things that I will be happier with (I like to bring pics of styles I like , and some of them aren’t reasonable for my thin flat hair😂) I always have a wonderful time when I go there and she is also an amazing conversationalist… she remembers so much about me! It always feels so personal. ❤️

I’ve been a client at Diego Art in Chemistry for a couple of months and found an amazing stylist named Paris—she’s incredibly talented and made my visits worthwhile. However, my recent experience was really disappointing.
I came in for a style-only appointment but was accidentally charged an extra $30 for a wash. Paris was kind enough to apologize, and the front desk assured me they’d issue a salon credit, which I intended to use for a shampoo. They told me I could come by anytime to pick it up.
After sitting in traffic for an hour to get there, I was shocked to be told that they would not honor the credit and weren’t going to give me anything back. Honestly, it felt dismissive and disrespectful after being a loyal client. I guess they really needed to hold on to that $30 more than they valued my return business. I won’t be coming back!

Went for a simple single color. The woman did not ask my color history, just started smacking color on my head with her hands, no parting or using a brush. I asserted my hair was too dark and would need to be bleached first. She protested, but I insisted and she reluctantly got Diego who said I would need to be lightened. They took me to the bowl to begin rinsing the dye they had put on my hair then put bleach on my wet hair as two women tugged and pulled at it trying to spread it around, rubbing it into my hair roughly with their fingers—no brushes, no foils, no care to my roots. Of course, my roots ended up lighter than the rest of my hair; This did not matter to them and they put the same color dye across my whole head. My roots ended up a much lighter color than my ends. $200 to have a botched dye job and be absolutely manhandled by 3 different stylists. The cherry on top? They did not properly use a cape or towel on my neck when bleaching, so the back of my shirt was completely ruined by the bleach job they did. Don’t waste your time, get WAY better service for half the price elsewhere.
