Whenever I'm in MD; I make it a point to come to Nail Trix to get my nails done by Jenny. She's been in the cosmetology business for over 30 years! Not only is she highly experienced but she is courteous, kind and takes good care of her clients. I know I am in good hands with her. The salon is clean, well ventilated and reasonably priced. There are plethora of nail salons but I will go out of my way to see Jenny here.
First time here. It was a slow afternoon and I was one of the 2 customers. Lee took his time and did a great job with my manicure and pedicure. I will come back in future and hope the service remains 5 star.
If I'm rating only how my nails looked when I left, it would be 4/5 stars. I didn't get the name of the woman who did my mani-pedi (gel on hands, reg polish on toes), but she did a great job and didn't rush through it. (There was no reason to, since I was the only customer on a weekend afternoon.) Here's why I'm leaving 3 stars: * Hygiene: no liner in the pedicure tub * Choosing colors: I'm used to picking my colors from a wall in the check-in area before we get started. Instead, she led me straight to a pedicure tub and went to a basket of color samples while the water filled the tub. She came back with 2 rings of samples, leaving many more in the basket. I asked to see the others, but we had a language barrier. I finally just picked from the limited selection she gave me (most of which were spring/summer like colors--this was fall). * Hygiene, part 2: She was the only person there with a mask, including me. Her male coworker was at the opposite end of the hygiene spectrum. He was sitting in one of the massage chairs next to the aisle facing the back. As I was walking toward him, he gave a VERY loud sneeze without covering his mouth--right when I was about to walk by him. He def saw me bc a) we were facing each other, and b) he mumbled "sorry." Ok, but have we learned ANYTHING about keeping our germs to ourselves in the last 3 years (or, you know, in kindergarten). I realize this isn't directly related to my service, but I'm including because I think it shows a lack of professionalism, not to mention basic hygiene. * I may have been overcharged. I asked the price before we started, and she said $70. But as I was leaving I noticed the prices posted near the ceiling: $50 for a mani/pedi.
