The owner is very friendly and does great sewins. I've been a customer for 10+ years and Emily (the owner) is my stylist.

I try to support black businesses but again and again, I’m reminded why I shouldn’t. I went to get my hair done and it was a horrible experience. I went in at 12:30 and didn’t get out until around 4:30pm and it would’ve been later if I had not spoken up. I saw her rush clients just so she can move on to the next client. I also saw her take her time with clients she knew but rushed with others. Basically everything was rushed even though I had waited patiently. I only stayed and waited because I had an event to go to and had to get my hair finished if it was not for that I would’ve left. If you are kind and patient, she tries to take advantage of that. Businesses like that with people taking advantage of people can only go so far. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else or do your hair yourself. I honestly don’t even leave reviews but my experience was horrible.

I have been going to Emily for about 15 years. She is extremely reliable, professional, and goes above and beyond for her clients. Not to mentioned her hands are blessed.

I cannot speak to their ability to do hair, but I can speak to the lack of professionalism. I arrived on time, and I sat down. I was told someone would be with me, and at first they were very nice. I gave a 15 minute grace period, because I thought a silk press was simple enough to get started right away. There was one washer from what I could see, and 3 stylists with people already in their chairs. Again, I only waited until 1:15, because I didn’t want to get stuck in the salon past 4pm. I also booked this appt for 1-3 online. However, as I waited, they were talking about another stylist and how they might possibly be missing money due to another client showing up after me who wanted extensions done. I heard them making preparations to help the young lady, but by this time I made my mind up to find another salon, because too much was going on there for me. As I get up to retrieve my coat and tell the stylist that I’d be just going elsewhere— I was met with animosity. One lady stated i’d have to pay, to which I replied “for what?” I hadn’t even been serviced. After this exchange she proceeded to shout for me to never come back. At this point, I was understandably affected by the harsh attitudes. I responded “I sure won’t be. Don't play with me.” At the end of the day I expected professionalism. I was initially sympathetic that they’d be losing my business, but to be treated this way just because I don’t feel like waiting was crazy. This is why people don’t come to black businesses. The response from the stylist was not needed. Who knows how long I would’ve sat for? Instead of getting into a spat with potential customers maybe show some concern as to why they’re leaving. Then do some honest reflection on you guys’ end. I wasn’t doing it to take money out of your pockets, but I wanted my time to respected. Maybe others who are hoping to go there will have a better experience— especially if you’re in a mood to waste your time. As I was told “this is how salons work,” which is partially true, however no salon should everrrr respond to a customer’s absence with such irritation. It definitely wasn’t the experience I walked in hoping for.

If you are interested in getting your child’s hair done at this establishment, I don’t think it’s a good idea. I had a horrible experience with my daughter. I brought her there to get her hair washed condition and braided. We got there at 9:45 AM and we were there until 5 o’clock and my daughters hair still was not done. There’s a gentleman that works there as well. He was very heavy handed with my daughter. I did not appreciate that either .Natalie then told me that the reason she did not do my daughters hair because she was crying and it was not considerate to the other customers that was there. In total my daughter was in the salon for eight hours and 15 minutes and only had her hair washed. My daughter is six years old. I asked for a refund because we were there for so long, and Natalie refused to do it. I cannot critique the other hairstylist in that salon, but I hope that my honest and transparent details of my experience will help others when you’re making a decision if they want to take the children to the salon.

Emily is skilled, but unprofessional. Late, double books, and talks badly about clients behind their backs. Better behaved stylists in town that respect the time of their customers.

Horrible experience I waited 2 and half hours to get my hair done when my appointment was at 3pm and didn’t even get serviced until 5:30pm. Very unprofessional.
