He quickly identified the problem and went above and beyond during the inspection, discovering leaking pipes that we hadn't even noticed. I received an immediate over the phone reply to a message. Peter K. of Jiffy spent considerable time talking to me about the problem, considering possible solutions within his company, as well as potentially going out to a specialized firm to help locate a leak underground. Ultimately, he provided a recommendation which allowed us within 24 hours on our own to identify the source of the underground leak. he checked in continuously by text to see how things were going and was just a godsend in terms of analyzing the problem that had been ongoing for over two months. A wonderful guy to work with, very highly recommended.

I hired them recently for a very small task--capping a gas line when we switched to an electric range. It's a 10-15 minute job tops, with an inexpensive part. It was only AFTER the technician was here and saw the job that they told me that they have a $295 minimum on gas work. They failed to disclose that in either of the two calls required to schedule the job. Neighbors have said they got lines capped for much less than that. The guy who actually did the work was great, but of the many contractors I've hired in the last 20 years Jiffy is the first and only one that had a minimum cost they didn't declare up front.

We've used Jiffy for years, and they never disappoint. Just had a mini split A/C installed upstairs, and they did a fantastic job, despite some complications due to the layout of our house. It was also going to take longer than anticipated (because of said complications), and when the workers found out we'd been hoping to leave town that night, they stayed well into the evening to finish the job rather than make us postpone our trip another day. Plus, while there Pete noticed something else awry just by the sound our main A/C unit was making, figured out what the problem was and fixed it on the spot. These guys really do a wonderful job, I can't imagine using anyone else.

Pete came to our home on a Saturday and immediately started his detective work regarding our water heater alarm. We were impressed by his assessment of our entire plumbing situation; he explained what we needed to address immediately and potentially in the future. His assessments about what we knew to be correct were all spot on, and he educated us about some things we did not already know. He saved us a lot of money, time and frustration. It was my fault to not ask for a quote before the plumber arrived. I made a quick call and found another plumber that did the job for 1/4 of the cost. Flat fees should always be viewed with suspicion. Also, the tech badly needed a shower

I have used Jiffy for well more than a decade, dozens of times, but the service has definitely taken a nosedive in recent years. Many examples, but the most recent is I asked for an estimate for a simple under the sink drain connection for a bathroom and to fix a leaky hose spigot. The estimate I got back was $375 for each, or $750 total. I asked them to explain how they got such a crazy estimate for such a simple job, and got a vague rambling explanation that made no sense. I ended up doing the work myself, spending $11 in parts and 40 minutes of my time. Their 'Customer's Bill of Rights' is a relic from another generation. Goodbye Jiffy, thanks for the memories.

We had an issue with our water heater (no hot water), on a Saturday, and called Jiffy. We are very happy with the service. Pete first tried to help with suggestions over the phone, but when that didn't fix the problem he was at our house in less than two hours. Pete is knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant, and in a very short time our water heater was working as it should (and at a very reasonable cost, especially for weekend work). Pete even called the next day to follow up. We very highly recommend Pete and Jiffy Plumbing and Heating.

5-star service from Jiffy yet again. I had mildewy smell coming from a terminal vent in my home office and couldn't figure out what was causing it. There were no water leaks near the vent, in the ceiling, or in that room in general that would cause the smell, so I called Jiffy. As always they had someone available to help and they even sent one of their most experienced technicians, Pete, the very next day. Despite only servicing the Northern MD area Pete kindly drove to Southern MD to check things out. He both called and texted letting me know when he'd arrive and came within the estimated time window. As soon as he arrived he got straight to work checking the HVAC system from attic to basement. While looking at the blower he noticed I was using a filter with extra layers and said this disrupts airflow. He explained how weaker airflow causes condensation to build up on the coils and mildew can start growing in the ducts as a result. The first place it'll show up is where the terminal vents are. He recommended I remove the filter and run the system with the fan to air it out, then switch to filters without extra layers going forward. He said this will not only prevent buildup but be better for my blower in general because it won't have to strain itself pushing air through the system. He said I'd notice an improvement "right away". He was absolutely right! Nearly 2 weeks later the smell is completely gone! Best of all, Pete didn't even charge me for his visit because the cause was my air filter and not an issue with the system! I've been a Jiffy customer for over 7 years and will always recommend them for both HVAC and plumbing service.

They are available when needed - including weekends - and competent, competitively priced (or better), and courteous. I have used them for several years and gladly recommend them to others, including real estate agents I work with and my personal friends.
