Family owned business that really cares about their clients. During the extreme cold weather and ice/snow storm on the Eastern shore of MD late January into February 2026, caused the drain pipe from the unit in our attic that routes outside to freeze causing our furnace to stop working. We noticed the drop in temperature while monitoring the thermostat APP while we were in Florida visiting family on a Saturday afternoon. We called Hometown and left a message, and also sent an email explaining the problem and told them we were in Florida with no way to check on the problem. The owner called us back within an hour and we arranged access to our home. He went out and identified the issue and was able to temporarily get the heat working again by turning it on emergency heat. Two days later he sent his service technicians back to the house and they carefully removed the frozen pipe, rerouted a new insulated pipe, and turned the emergency heat off. Can’t thank them enough as they had numerous service calls due to the unusually cold weather lasting two plus weeks, yet they took the time to assist us quickly averting a catastrophic disaster while we were out of town. Exceptional quality service!
Back in March, HHC performed a complete HVAC overhaul at our home. Our old system, which consisted of two AC units, two hydronic air handlers, and an oil boiler, was 25 years old and costly to maintain. HHC owner John Hooks came to our home, inspected the system, and made several recommendations. After discussion we decided to gut everything and go with two new Bosch heat pump systems and discard the oil system entirely. HHC’s crew were at the house the better part of a week completing the work, and when they were done everything was perfect. They even disconnected and removed the outdoor oil tank and whole-house attic fan. I am happy to report that after two weeks of intense summer heat we couldn’t possibly be more comfortable. What a difference our new equipment has made. I 100% recommend Hometown for your HVAC service and equipment needs.
Home Town Heating and cooling is the best and goes above and beyond. Our 4 year old HVAC unit was recently fried by a power surge. It needed a new circuit board. The primary distributor didn’t have one so they called all over to find one and then drove to Columbia to pick it up. AC is working fine. We refer them to our family and friends!
