“This was my first time at Modern Muse and it certainly won’t be my last. First of all, Kamaria was extremely kind and accommodating. I made a mistake and was running late for my appointment and she was flexible with me around her existing appointments.

When I arrived, the space was clean and beautiful and everything felt very sanitary - no clutter or disorganization.

I got three services: 30 minute express whitening, a medium sized tooth gem, and eyebrow shaping. I’ve never had my teeth h whitened nor have I ever gotten a tooth gem and Kamaria was extremely thorough. She explained each step of the process and made sure I was comfortable throughout. My only recommendation would be to ask questions before booking so that you can book the right thing for what you’re looking for. For me, I probably should have booked an hour for the whitening service but I booked first and asked questions later. Even with that she accommodated me, lightened my teeth by several shades and recommended that I return in four weeks (which I will). She also provided honest and professional advice on which size tooth gem I should get to match my style and preferences without being too over the top.

Once my teeth were done she moved on to brows. I’ve had a hard time finding someone to shape my brows the way I like for at least a decade. I didn’t have any photos, but I provided her with a verbal descriptions and she NAILED IT.

I am so pleased with this business and I will definitely be a repeat customer. She’s organized, on-time, and conveniently located right off the beltway. Five stars from start to finish!“

She was efficient, she paused several times to make sure I liked the shape of my brows, the products she used were gentle on my skin, and oh my gosh was the decor so amazing (she even decorated the ceiling!). “The entire experience at this spa was so pleasant and relaxing. The decor and aesthetic are so calming and comfortable. The owner and staff have done a great job creating a soothing experience without any overwhelming aromas. The waiting room has large massage chairs and fresh water. The bathrooms are clean and nicely decorated. I've visited the spa twice now in the past month, each time getting a 45-minute massage with Juan. I've been dealing with tight muscles and sciatica pain on my left side for quite some time and Juan was very intentional with his massages. He had no issue using the whole 45 minutes to focus on my problem areas. He also showed me several videos with stretches that I've actively been doing since he showed me and they seem to be effective. I will definitely be back. Making an appointment is easy and they accept HSA payment as well.“

Specialities: Zavia is a talented faux locs artist. I have consistently and for years left her shop with the best looking Bohemian locs in town. She is also skilled at growing your own hair underneath, especially if your goal is to grow your own locs. My hair feels healthy and is getting to a length where I will feel comfortable wearing it out. She is also efficient and I am in and out within a reasonable time - now waiting around on other clients. My time is my time and I value that type of service.“

I have been getting wax treatments for a while. It's not my first time at this rodeo. But this was my first time here. Michai's technique is so gentle and so pleasant (I know it's an oxymoron) that I almost fell asleep. Notice I said almost, lol. But she was so gentle that it barely hurt at all.
