“Our salesman from Md. Carpet & tile was Jacob Devereux. He was a very diligent and thorough salesman, honest and with integrity. We had 2 1/2 floors of sanded, stained and OLV installed. As happens during construction, there were a couple of hiccups. Jacob made sure that the work was done to our satisfaction. I had a solar panel project completed by United Construction & Restoration and they are very unresponsive. My project by finished Oct of 2024 and they never sent my certificate of completion so that I can receive SREC payment benefits. How do you have a company who doesn't answer the phone, return voicemail messages or emails. 6 months without a response is unreliable and unprofessional.

Update 9/16/2025: After my initial review, I wanted to provide an update. United Construction remedied my solar project so that could obtain my certificates for credit with my srecs. They fully made sure I received retroactive credits with srectrade and made sure all of the proper paperwork was issued. They greatly apologized after their company went through a transition period and it showed, after solving my issue. Thank you for fixing the issue.“

“The company did good work to remodel our 3 bathrooms. They had good suggestions for how to lay out bathrooms, and how to turn a closet into a bathroom. They incorporated our suggestions into the design. There were a few problems with the construction including an improperly vented toilet and a problem with the exhaust vents. They came out to fix these problems and I'm now happy with the work. “Our oil heat furnace broke on what felt like the coldest day in November, and Mallick Mechanical truly came to the rescue. They were the only company able to come out the same day to assess the situation and provide an estimate. Tyler was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly helpful in walking us through the process of converting to a heat pump and installing a new AC unit.

“The job consisted of painting the interior of the house, removing all cast-iron radiators to repair old leaks, upgrading the AC and one shower, and refinishing the wood floors. We also asked them to scrape the balustrade to remove the old varnish and apply a clear coat to showcase the original wood. The result was amazing, and the balustrade now looks gorgeous.

FineCraft did an excellent job all around. Their crew is very professional, always available, and attentive to your directions and questions. They communicate daily about what they plan to do and post before-and-after pictures of the work on their portal.

One thing I really appreciated was their sales team. They are not typical salespeople: they are very knowledgeable and work with you on every decision to provide the quote you need. They don’t lowball you only to tell you halfway through the job that you need to pay much more. They were right on the money and stayed on budget through the end.

“I had my deck redone with Trex compost wood and a gazebo built on the deck. Elegant Homes did a good job on the deck. The gazebo is screened in and is strong and well built. While the construction was great, esthetically I expected more. The white guard rail on the steps doesn’t match the brown color scheme of the deck. I intend to paint over the white wrap around the deck and the white vent at the top of the gazebo. I also would have wanted embellishments around the top of the gazebo to add to its appeal. I’m sure I would enjoy my deck and gazebo for many years, I just would have wanted it to look more appealing.“

“We contacted Diaz Contracting about Painting our house, replacing the carpeted steps and upper level with hardwood floors and other work. Mr. Diaz came out, talked to us, and provided us with excellent input for our project. We received a detailed estimate broken down into individual tasks with labor and materials broken out. This was extremely helpful in our decision making and the cost was fair for the amount of work to be done so we agreed to have Diaz do the work. We are living in the house so the work had to be done around us. “We hired DMV Kitchen and Bath for a major kitchen and sunroom remodel, and the before-and-after transformation is incredible. Our old kitchen was narrow, dark, and closed off from the rest of the house. It is now bright, open, functional, and beautiful, with blue cabinetry, quartz countertops and backsplash, a large island, updated lighting, new appliances, and much better flow.

One of the most impressive parts of the project was what they did with the original brick arches. Before the remodel, the arches were only visible from the sunroom side; the other side had been covered up. They preserved the arches and exposed them from both sides, turning them into a true architectural feature of the home. That detail alone made the whole space feel more open, intentional, and connected while still honoring the character of the house.

The sunroom/living area was also transformed into a brighter, cleaner, more inviting space that now feels connected to the kitchen and dining areas. The quality of the work really shows, and the finished result is both beautiful and practical for everyday life.

Javier was the project manager who oversaw the remodel, and he did an excellent job keeping the project moving and making sure the details were handled well. The entire DMV Kitchen and Bath team was attentive, extremely competent, and a pleasure to work with.
