Would rate 100 stars if I could! This is a class act, very professionally run office. From check-in to check-out everyone was wonderful, caring..went above and beyond for a pressure issue...would not let us go until we had a course of action...everyone was making calls to get the right specialist to help...surgery is already scheduled for tomorrow in Baltimore! Special mention to Dr April Enger..she was incredible and went above and beyond in this emergency situation! Another special mention to the technician Sarita...WOW! This woman is incredible...she did all the testing kept us informed every minute and we were there over 6 hours! She even brought me crackers (greatly appreciated!)..great personality too..can't say enough about her....we loved her!!! Am so thankful for all the people who were working...calling...etc in this office to help us...thank you all so much!!!!!

Had an appointment here last week. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I arrived early and they took me in early. The receptionist was lovely, the doctor was amazing, and the technician that did a follow up test was also great. Everyone polite and helpful. Friendly and made me feel at ease. The doctor spent a long time with me. I never felt rushed. She did lots of tests and explained everything to me. Answered all my questions and asked gave me information no eye doctor ever has that helped me understand and get insight into my serious eye condition. Couldn't be happier or more hopeful.

I visited the eye center yesterday. My appointment was at 12.30 PM. I was asked to be there a bit earlier. I arrived a little after 12. Noon. No one was at the front desk. Finally someone passed me by. Never acknowledge me. She did not greeted me in a very professional way. Anyway after a while Dr. Sales came out himself and took me back to his office. He was an ok doctor. I didn't feel connected with him. He was very thorough. He did a lot of testing on my eyes. I lost my right eye vision for six days. I was very scared. I was emotional wondering if I was going blind. His diagnosis to both of my eyes sound like something was very wrong with both of my eyes. He suggested I need to sew a Retina specialist. And an Opthamologist. I was not able to be scheduled at the Thomas Johnson drive. He asked me to go the front desk to be scheduled for my appointments. The front desk staff. Had me standing there for the longest while, in all my adult life I've never stood so long awaiting an appointment. Bare in mind there's no vision in my right eye. After standing there at the front desk, in what seem like forever. The receptionist finally said to me the first appointment she can offer me for an ophthalmologist appointment was in November. I have no vision. But yet I was offered in November. The office manager came to the desk. She also told me I cant have an appointment until November. I became very sad and emotional. I was so scared. Dr Sallis told me I need a cataract surgery very soon. Also I need to meet with a Retina specialist. Anyone who loses their sight and cannot see would be stressed out sad and emotional. Thats my eye. I cant see. No compassion, or kindness from the front desk staff. I was treated with no consideration of the seriousness of me not seeing. No compassion. Not let's see if we can squeeze me in. No care about me. There answer was October or November. I have no sight in my right eye, you would think the front desk staff. Or the office manager would offer a little of concern, or some help. No help. I left that office yesterday Tuesday August 12, 2025 in tears. I do not RECOMMEND. This morning I call the call Center. The Agent who answered. Was very professional. Kind. Thoughtful and very compassionate. She immediately schedule me to have a consult with an Opthamologist next week in Coloumbia. Those agents at the call center really needs to go and train the front desk staff at the office. Because they have no Customer service. They dont care about the patient's needs.

I called the Frederick office (3/18/24) and spoke to Miranda who was patient, informative and went above and beyond to help me with my husband’s eye needs! She eventually got me a glaucoma specialist set up for the very next day and a good time since it’s difficult getting him ready for appointments! I don’t know why the negative reviews but my review is Kudos to Miranda! Have her do front office training from time to time to help other staff who might forget that the first call says it all about the establishment (even if incorrect) Great people skills Miranda!!

Rude, unfriendly and unhelpful clerical staff. They have zero patience for the elderly despite this being their largest patient demographic. The treatment of their patients is unprofessional and rushed. Front desk staff has no patience and can not answer any questions regarding scheduling, insurance or their own office policies. If you sneeze (I sneezed 1 time over the course of our 2 hour wait) you are asked to mask up or leave the office. I will drive to Baltimore before ever visiting the Frederick office again.

Always great things to say about the people and care at Wilmer. Been a patient off and on for fifteen years and still treated like visiting royalty.

I WAS a patient in the Frederick Office and my doctor left last year. I am having an emergency and I called on Monday of this week, Dec 26th and I realize they are closed this week, so they gave me an emergency on call doctor number to call. I left 3 messages and knowbody called back. So disrespectful. I have flashing in my right eye with a possible retina detachment and knowbody will call back. They don't care. Called a local retina specialist and the responded right away and want me in the office asap. So long Wilmer Eye Institute
