The initial consultation is a thorough two-hour process, during which Laura learns about preferences, intentionally washes and styles hair, and teaches self-styling techniques. Clients appreciate her attention to detail, comfort, and confidence-boosting approach, resulting in a truly satisfying experience.
Laura is *the best*! I've been going to her for years and always walk out feeling like the best version of myself. Be ready to act like goofballs together, while also having a stylist who's attentive and knows how to translate vague hair ideas into something tangible. Plus, she's a great at teaching you how to let your hair's natural texture shine like the main character it is. All the gold stars for Laura!
I have been coming to Laura at Blackwell Beauty for years! She has seen me through all of my life phases: postpartum, post chemo and my getting healthy journey . I’ve been going to Laura for curly cuts for at least 2-3 years now, but really the service has been much more than just a hair cut/color. She has taught me so much about how to take care of my hair and even put in contact with other haircare professionals who have helped my journey along. I also really admire that Laura is a great listener and that together it’s easy to come to a conclusion of what I’m going for at the appointment. Her additional offerings of beverages, snacks, hand oil treatments, and just her lovely personality and conversation skills are also what keeps me making the drive out to Urbana although I live closer to DC.
