I came to this salon after being diagnosed with a medical condition that causes significant hair loss. During my initial consultation, I paid $800 upfront for the service, hair and “color matching” my hair to the hair that was bought, which involves dyeing the roots to match the extension color which wasn’t far off, both were brunette. I was told this was included in the $800 i spent. I made it clear that my goal was to restore some confidence during a very vulnerable time.
After booking my appointment for two weeks later, which is when the hair should’ve been there, my appointment was canceled several times due to “illness” or “called out”. I was rescheduled multiple times — ultimately waiting six weeks before the service was performed. When I finally arrived, I was told there would be an additional $150 charge to color my roots. This was never disclosed in my consultation, and I was told something completely different when I paid for the service in FULL at the consult. I was so surprised considering the hair color almost matched my own, with only a slight honey tone at my roots. When I raised the issue, I was blindsided and just went with the process without doing my roots because my hair color was similar enough where it was blendable.
Within a week, the extensions became extremely loose and difficult to manage — completely unacceptable given that I paid so much for it to be crumbling within 7 days. I reached out and was seen within a few days. However, when I scheduled the required maintenance appointment, it was canceled an hour before due to the stylist being sick. I rescheduled again, only for it to be canceled once more for the same reason. When I called to ask if someone else could assist me, I was told she was the only one who handled extensions — and even a team member acknowledged she is “out a lot.”
Left with no other option, I had to remove the extensions myself since they were hanging off of my head pulling on my real hair causing headaches and irritation to the scalp. This resulted in additional trauma and even more hair loss than I had before. I am beyond disappointed. This experience has caused financial loss, emotional distress, and worsened a medical condition I was already struggling with.
For a salon located in Bethesda, the lack of transparency, professionalism, and basic client care is completely unacceptable. I expected a standard of service that reflects the pricing and promises made — instead, I left with severely damaged hair and deep regret.

Massimo and his team at Eyma are fantastic at what they do - my family and I have been clients for over 10 years and I am ecstatic with the results every time I leave. Best keratin treatment in the DMV. Massimo makes everything better!

I’ve gone multiple times to get my hair done and dyed and it’s been the best my hair has ever looked. The staff are very very welcoming and the salon itself is overall a very comforting environment to be in no matter how long an appointment can be.

Mixed feelings about the salon. The coloring was done well and pretty much I got the color i wanted to, my stylist was friendly and welcoming. On the other hand I waited way longer than 30 minutes for rinsing the dye off, and then the different person that was washing my hair did it quite aggressively and managed to leave a patch of dye from the foil on my cheek that I could barely wash off. I would expect the service to be more pleasant than this.

I visited Ema Salon to get my hair colored. I showed the stylist a picture of the desired hair color, and she assured me it was achievable. Trusting the process, I let her proceed. However, after we finished, she mentioned that the color would lighten once it dried. But when I got home and checked, the result was completely different from what I had asked for.
I called the salon and returned to have it fixed, which turned into an absolutely terrible experience. I ended up spending nearly four hours there. There is no reason I should have been charged twice for one service, especially since it wasn’t done correctly the first time. I initially paid $250 and then had to pay an additional $50 to fix it.
To make matters worse, the stylist was juggling other clients while I was left waiting. I even had to remind her that my toner needed to be washed out because the time had passed. She then told me that another stylist would rinse my hair, and she would shampoo it afterward. I waited again to be shampooed . The final result doesn’t resemble the picture I showed her at all.
I’ve never been in a situation like this, and I will not be returning. This was an incredibly frustrating experience.I wish I hadn’t walked in to the salon. My time my money and most important I am so unhappy I literally cried in my car when I see how my hair turned out and how much I have paid.
