I had a terrible experience at DC Pediatric Smiles. They pressure parents into agreeing to treatments that feel completely unnecessary. My child had a small dark spot on a baby tooth, and they immediately pushed for a sealant—even though it’s a baby tooth that’s going to fall out. There was little explanation and it felt very pushy.
The moment you question or decline anything, their attitude changes and they basically tell you to go somewhere else—even for something as simple as a cleaning. That alone was a huge red flag for me.
The office tries really hard to look fancy with all these amenities like free Nespresso, iced coffee, and sparkling water, but it honestly just feels like it’s there to attract wealthy clients rather than focus on actual patient care.
Overall, it felt more like a business trying to upsell than a place that genuinely cares about kids. I definitely won’t be going back.

I had a wonderful experience at this pediatric dental office. The entire team was incredibly patient with my daughter and made her feel safe from the moment we arrived. They took the time to explain, both to her and to us as parents, what to expect during the visit and the procedures they would be performing. Their humanized, gentle approach truly made a difference. I strongly and wholeheartedly recommend this dental office to any family looking for compassionate, professional, and child-centered care.

Dr Blank and the whole practice is wonderful. Appointments are always right on time, the office staff is very helpful and the care is top notch. They spend time with you to ensure you understand your children’s dental health.

DC Pediatric Smiles is everything you’d want for your child! Everyone was so welcoming and kind, their play space was lovely, the coffee station with both fresh espresso and canned lattes was a nice bonus. My son (20 months) immediately went to the play area and was totally calmed by the atmosphere. He loved watching Bluey on the TV that can be adjusted all the way to the ceiling for more involved dental work where he’d need to lie down. He sat on my lap for the dental appointment and the hygienist and dentist both took the time to show what they were going to do on his plush toy that we brought with us, which really helped keep the appointment low stress for him. We received a lovely welcome package with a couple toys, a toothbrush, a full size nice brand of toothpaste, among other things. The warmth of staff, attention to every little detail for the space and the intake process, and the cleanliness and fun of the environment put me and my son at immediate ease and we actually look forward to returning in 6 months for the next routine visit. They also offer emergency dental care and orthodontic care in office, which is good to know should the need for either arise in the future. My toddler actually cried when we had to leave because he wanted to stay and play in their play area! I highly recommend this dental office!

My son is autistic and nonverbal, and they were incredibly patient and kind with him, always reassuring both him and me. They took their time and made him feel comfortable. Now my other kids love going to the dentist, too. They are truly incredible!
