I'm not one to go to funeral homes and funerals , just not my thing. creepy to me in my opinion. but anyways they are so kind, compassionate. took great care of my family during this hard time for us. very accommodating. felt comfortable being there last night for my grandpas viewing and funeral. they made my grandpa look handsome and made him look peaceful. he looked happy. And the presentation video with all the pictures, was truly amazing and top notch, with the short time they had to make it. and having full military honors for the internment was , wow amazing. thank you for taking care of us and my grandpa. we truly appreciate everything.
My family and I were so pleased and comforted by the service at Borgwardt's. My brother died suddenly and left us not knowing his wishes. The 2 ladies who helped us were very professional and hlepful. We are very thankful.
My family and I have now used Borgwardt Funeral Home on two occasions: First, when my father died in 2006, and second, when my mother died this past August 29. Although my memories of the earlier events have faded somewhat, their service in this latter case has been exemplary. My mother passed on a Saturday night, yet in spite of the late hour, Borgwardt staff responded immediately, heading straight to her apartment as required by her Assisted Living facility. When we also had an urgent need for copies of her death certificate, Borgwardt staff took it upon themselves to get the certificate issued by local government in a day rather than the typical week. Finally, with regard to my mother's obituary, they posted it promptly on their website in the form that we requested, and they got it printed effectively in the following Sunday's Washington Post. Everything else went smoothly as well, from a tasteful opportunity for me to identify my mother, to the prompt carrying out of her cremation, to an ongoing concern with both the needs and the feelings of my family and myself. We can highly recommend Borgwardt Funeral Home to anyone else in need of such services, and we would certainly be ready to use them again ourselves. - Robert Mugge
