“This is great salon. I came because my mom regularly has Berry do her updo braids style. But that’s not all Berry can do! I went in to get my hair dyed to cover my gray. Berry noticed that it had been a long time since my last trim and did a great cut to get rid of my split ends. The shampoo was lovely. And since I only went in for the dye, I was prepared to leave and do a wash n go at home. But Berry did a beautiful silk press for me. I received so many compliments on the style / curls. I’ll definitely go back! And my mom has her appointment next week!“

“The loc journey is individual and gives something different to each person. Tammy was recommended through a friend who I've watched her locs blossom into beauty and elegance. I just started my locs in June with Tammy, so I'm early on, but this review is about the styling she did for me for a wedding I was a part of. Tammy figured out, on the spot, how to integrate synthetic locs into my hair to achieve the style. My goodness did it turn out wonderful! On top of that I wanted to go lighter without using bleach bc my hair doesn’t tolerate it well( before my appointment my hair was natural, no color processing for years). “This salon is a true treasure. Kylie, the owner, is the stylist I’ve been going to for the last five years - she’s truly the best. I do a cut/color with her every 4 months, and bring her inspo photos or screenshots of TikTok (included one here!) of what I want my hair to look like, and she makes it happen - or gives her expert POV on what might look better based on my coloring. We have so much fun and the vibes at the salon are immaculate - you can truly tell Kylie and her team love what they do.

Kylie is easy to book with and has lots of availability, even as the salon owner, and she’s incredibly down to earth and kind. She also cuts my mom, dad and daughter’s hair - her skills are incredibly versatile.

Lastly, the salon is located in the cutest strip of historic downtown Kensington - across from a record store, next to an antique shop and near some great restaurants. Parking is also easy to find.“

Our stylist was kind and patient and has knowledge of hair growth and care, openly sharing that with clients. She has a great attention to detail and high expectations for the end product. My daughter’s hair lasted 6 weeks including a summer vacation to the beach.
