“This was our first time at this salon. My daughter is 4 years old and it was her first time getting cornrows. Our stylist was kind and patient and has knowledge of hair growth and care, openly sharing that with clients. She has a great attention to detail and high expectations for the end product. My daughter’s hair lasted 6 weeks including a summer vacation to the beach.

“I got my hair cut on a whim due to wanting a fresh start for the lunar new year. I really had no clear vision of what would look good on me but was able to find some clear inspiration pictures on Pinterest. Peng was very helpful in helping me come to a decision!

The haircut:
Peng was my stylist and I believe he did a great job. He was very approachable and skilled. We started with a hair wash, blow dry. Peng then blew my hair out, and finished with the haircut. I think this allowed for an easier way for me to see the vision. I am very pleased with how my hair turned out, and I’m glad I came to this salon.

As many reviews have mentioned: this is a primarily Chinese-speaking salon. This did present some communication barriers for me as Peng and I were unable to communicate as well as we would have wanted. Google translate did help a bit.

The space:
Tucked away on the side of a shopping center, the salon was a tad outdated and stuck to essentials. Otherwise clean and spacious. I also noticed that a lot of the brushes and scissors weren’t put into Barbicide. I’m not sure what the process of cleaning tools between clients is, so this is why I deducted 1 star due to me feeling a bit off about that.

Overall, I think my $75 haircut was well worth it for the amount of hair I cut off and getting to work with the pleasant Peng. If they up their cleanliness, I’d be sure to go back! Thank you, InStyle!“

“Went to Annum after needing to correct my hair. It was over processed and bleached and what I didn’t want from my precious stylist after moving here from San Diego! I showed her some pictures of what I wanted and she nailed it. Her professionalism, expertise, and artistic skills are amazing! My hair now looks beautiful and I would Recommend her over and over again! Shes the best!“
