“Our daughter had mild scoliosis at age 12, the pediatrician sent us to Dr. Hresko at Boston Children's Hospital. He said it did not require intervention. He did not tell us to return every 6 months, did not advise on avoiding sports like rowing (asymmetrical strain) or trampoline, did not discuss daily posture, how to carry the heavy school backpack etc.By age 15, we were horrified to see that her scoliosis got much worse and her spine was like the letter S :-( Dr. Hresko said it was too late and that she did not need surgery (that's where the doctors and hospitals make the big money). He blamed the pediatrician and school nurse for not monitoring her spine :-/We were distressed and disheartened, but found 3DC in Woburn. Dr. Marc Moramarco and his wife were empathetic and encouraging. They took a 3D scan of her body and created a custom brace (which was thin and lightweight, unlike the heavy and bulky brace they provide at BCH). Kathy and Amy were professional and personable, they spent many hours teaching our daughter Schroth PT exercises tailored to her condition, which she did diligently over a year and a half, and we returned for follow up periodically.It was a big effort and expense (the health insurance would not cover that), her spine will never be straight but her condition improved significantly.Surgeons can be arrogant and detached, they don't believe in preventive treatment or PT; parents must seek alternatives. If your child has scoliosis- I recommend consulting 3DC.“

“I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 66 years old. I had chronic back pain and could not stand up straight.. After rejecting the conventional treatment of pharmaceuticals and/or surgery, I searched for other remedies.
