I am a huge fan of this oil company and have recommended them to my whole condo association. I am not one to spend a ton of time shopping for pricing, but I can attest to their amazing customer service. John (VP) is so personable and helpful. He comes right to your house and walks around/inspects radiators himself. He is responsive and was also wonderfully helpful in facilitating my new boiler install through MassSave. Everyone I have spoken on the phone with at Federal (now owned by Townsend I think) is very nice and easy to communicate with. When I have questioned some charges, they don't argue back, but have completed what I requested. I used Lion in the past, and when I switched to Federal it was night and day. I wish they serviced the area for my new house!

Have just had our annual boiler cleaning and check-up and our guy (Vinnie) was absolutely wonderful. Not only was he thorough and extremely knowledgeable about our boiler, he was very friendly and answered all of our questions. More than that, when he was held up and found that he might be late for our original appointment, he took the time to call us and ask if that would be ok and if not, asked when would be a good time to reschedule for. Not all companies provide such great customer service. I also want to mention that we've been with Federal Energy for going on our third year (we inherited them when we bought the house - they were already contracted) and last year, our guy Phil was just as wonderful. Federal Energy has been consistently great for us.

I truly don't understand the negative reviews for Federal Heating. We have had only positive and pleasant experiences with this company. For the past two years, Federal Heating has been our oil, heating and central a/c service provider. They are reliable, friendly, honest and have always responded right away to our phone calls. Their service calls are always professional and prompt. Their prices are very competitive and I would highly recommend them.Update - Massachusetts had an exceptionally cold night - we woke up last Saturday morning with no heat along with many other residents.
