Dr. Peter Y. Chang, MD, FACS, is an excellent surgeon who saved vision with two surgeries and perfectly installed lenses. He is thorough, patient, and explains things completely, spending time explaining the pros and cons of lens choices. Dr. Chang is compassionate and clear in communicating about all aspects of a condition and recommended treatment. He finally diagnosed a condition accurately after four years and developed a treatment plan that truly worked. Dr. Chang performed several surgeries including inserting IOLs and vitrectomy in both eyes, as well as the advanced procedure of an epi-retinal membrane peel. His office is well run and professional, and he truly cares about his patients. Everyone is very supportive and professional, putting anxious patients at ease. Dr. Chang rearranged his schedule to perform surgery as quickly as possible, including communicating directly. He also performed a YAG and injected a tiny seed of medicine with great results. Thanks to his expertise and attentive care, patients are now completely uveitis-free, see better than since a teenager, and have 20-20 vision for the first time in 35 years. Dr. Chang is the specialist for complex eye issues.
MERSI and Dr. Anesi have changed my life for the better in the last 5 months I have been in their care. I was referred to the practice after several flares of uveitis and living many decades with retained lens fragments post cataract surgeries in the 1980s. Not only did Dr. Anesi perform two successful vitrectomies for me but he also implanted IOLs which now allow me to see without the aid of glasses or contact lenses after being aphakic all of these years. Everyone I have met and worked with at both MERSI and the surgical center downstairs have been compassionate while also remaining some of the top professionals in their field. When you have an appointment at MERSI you can rest assured you’re getting top tier care . I’ve seen several reviews with people being unhappy with clinic wait times but I don’t know where else you can go and receive a diagnosis and treatment by doctors with this level of experience and expertise. If anything, the wait times go to show that there is a big demand and need for more research and specialists in ocular inflammatory diseases which they also dedicate time to in their foundation. If you have a complicated case you will want to be here, period.
I have been twice now for surgery and everyone there, everyone from the front desk to all the nurses and staff and just very pleasant, efficient and caring. Well done. I’ve interacted with many different staff and top to bottom they do an excellent job!
Hands down the best clinic ever! We travel from Tulsa, OK to see Dr. Anesi. His friendly bedside manner, plus incredible expertise is exactly what we needed! I’m so glad we took suggestions of going here, they are the BEST!
