“I have been a nail client of Effie’s for many years. I love that my nails are done by hand, no drills or other tools that can weaken a nail. I am a gel nails client and there is a wide variety of colors to choose from. Effie takes great care to ensure her clients are happy with their services and is a wonderful conversationalist. We’ve learned a lot about each other over the years so there is never a shortage of conversation and laughter. It’s like hanging with a good friend when I go for my appointments.

Julia has been doing my hair for the past couple of years. She is kind, knowledgeable and an expert at her craft. I always feel my best after she’s worked on my hair, whether it’s a color, a cut or just a wash & blow dry!

The other stylists in the salon seem equally as dedicated to their work & their clients.

Lisa has taken care of my esthetician needs a few times. She is very friendly and easy to get along with. I’ve always felt comfortable in her care.

The salon is clean, the front desk staff are professional and welcoming and appointments can usually be scheduled when needed. I look forward to my visits, even if it requires a bit of traveling to get there! Highly recommended,“

They did my cut before my wedding (fixing a 2-year grown out mullet to a layered bob), and they also did a big mullet transformation with me this summer. Em also gave me some great tips and products to try out that have fully changed my ability to style my hair. Truly the best hair service I’ve had in the Boston area with incredibly reasonable prices. “My experience at Philosphe was a 10 out of 10! This is coming from someone who has never had a good experience at a hair salon and has not found a go to stylist in my 30+ years of living. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and took the time to check in to make sure things were going well and to my liking. I think I’ve found my go to stylist! I was very happy with how my haircut came out, it far exceeded my expectations.

Coming from someone who is traumatized by other salons and stylists, believe me when I say, this has been the best experience and I would recommend to everyone I know.

Also like to add the woman at the front desk (I am blanking on her name, I’m sorry!) She was very pleasant and she seems like the perfect person to man the front desk! I appreciate when places have kind and welcoming people in the front.
