George walked us through everything at the shop and came by just two days later to take measurements. The doors were made to order and installed quickly. The crew was efficient, professional, and did a fantastic job. Communication throughout the process was top-notch. Everything looks great, and I’d highly recommend King Shade & Window!“

It was a long process, but their warmth, style and innovative sprits made them a joy to work with. They understood us as clients and worked to meet our needs. Have recommended to others and will continue to recommend to anyone wanting a team that does more than just the typical cookie cutter project.“

38 Livermore Rd, Wellesley“We first hired Monique when we were building a new home in the early 1990s, and we recently worked with her again on a new lake house construction project. This time around, we sought her expert advice on kitchen and bathroom design and decor, flooring, internal and external paint colors, and furniture selection. She made awesome preconstruction suggestions about our porch and our master bedroom window placement, and later provided competitively priced Hunter Douglas window treatments throughout the house. Monique is a talented, knowledgeable design professional with a great eye for color, strong attention to detail, and a flexible approach to working with her clients that takes into account their taste and budget.

“We have an odd shaped window cushion whose zipper was unrepairable. Plus our dog’s favorite window seat needed new threads. Finding the fabric was easy, but who is going to undertake this big cushion and how expensive was it going to be?
A quick search through our neighborhood smart phone application led us to Copley Upholstery in West Roxbury.
From beginning to end, Richard could not have been more pleasant, uncomplicated, communicative. He delivered on time, workmanship was perfect and the cost was far below what we had expected.
I’m so pleased and impressed that I’m looking around the house to see what else I can have reupholstered!“

Marlboro St, Newton“I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to write my well-deserved five-star review for Tess Leeds Redesign, but better late than never! Actually, now that I’m thinking about it, one of the main reasons we asked Tess to redesign our master bedroom was because we wanted a space of comfort and tranquility amidst the chaos and unkempt-ness of the rest of our house which comes with the territory of having a toddler and another baby on the way. Since our redesign in April of 2024, I’ve since had said baby (which is the main reason for my delay in writing this), and we are SO glad we have our beautiful room to retreat to at the end of the day.
Not only is our room more beautiful, but it is also more functional, with added shelving and seating space that really opened up our modestly-sized master bedroom. It was a really a watershed moment in our continual effort to clean out our house, as with all the extra shelving and wall space, we were able to get framed pictures, books, and other sentimental decor out of our basement and attic and finally on display.
We were also able to accomplish all this within a reasonable budget and timeframe. Tess’s pricing tier is based on the size of the room, and I thought her prices were absolutely commensurate with the service she delivered. Before meeting with her, we had to fill out a questionnaire with some basic information about what we were looking for, and include Pinterest boards, pictures and other inspiration to give her an idea of our vision. Then, she came one morning from 9-12ish to workshop, or “redesign”, the room with us. I really enjoyed this process, as it was collaborative. She came with the ideas, but definitely wanted our input so that she could make thoughtful suggestions. For example, we knew we were under-utilizing wall space in one corner of the room and were originally considering hanging shelves. She explained why she thought shelving wouldn’t work in this corner, and instead suggested a tall standing rattan bookshelf for not only looks, but also space maximization. We agreed, and she helped us shop for a bookshelf right there on her computer (she also used a special software to cut and paste images of items we were considering and place it in a model of our room, so we could have an idea of what it would look like). She took measurements of the space, so were could be really precise with what we were looking for and help narrow down the search. I really appreciate her doing all the legwork here, because half the battle in decorating a space is shopping for items, which can take months or even years if you do not have an expert guiding you. We ended up with a beautiful rattan bookshelf from Serena and Lily, which I would say is the defining piece of the room were it not for the deep greenish/blue grass cloth wallpaper she chose for the wall behind our bed!
I could go on with all the beautiful items and quality furniture, wallpaper, and paint she chose, but I would be remiss if I didn’t also highlight how NOT PUSHY she was with out purchasing any of it. (Keep in mind anything you purchase is out of your own pocket, and not included in Tess’s fee. Tess’s fee is what you pay for her artistic vision and legwork in getting your room designed. You decide how much you want to shell out actually executing said vision). She kept reminding us that these were suggestions and as clients, we were free to disagree for whatever reason. I also liked that she did not only suggest expensive items, but was pennywise and knew when something was actually worth the price. For instance, we added a good-looking small bench in the room that she recommended for $50 from Target (it might have been even less than that actually).
I’m reaching the end of my word limit here, or else I would go on. In short, if you are on the fence about hiring Tess, just do it! We will certainly be calling her again when we are ready to redesign another room. I’ve included some before and after photos, as well as an example of the moo“

1660 Soldiers Field Rd, Brighton“I've used California Closets on three occasions, and have been very satisfied with the results. The cabinets they've installed look good, and have held up nicely. I would however urge anyone contemplating having them in review their documents and measurements very carefully. On more than one occasion, they overlooked some small but critical detail (in one case overlooking a light switch which required a cut-out, another time they drilled holes for door handles incorrectly). Nothing terribly critical, just a little sloppy. So do your homework and check your dimensions and their plans before signing on. One other small nit-pick is their somewhat limited pallet of colors. But on the whole, I like their work and wouldn't hesitate to use them again“
