I had a rotted out shed that needed repair (mainly because it is attached to my house). The KOD team were quick and efficient and got the project done in half a day. 2nd floor exterior deck needed to be replaced due to leak. Unlike other contractors, they did not come out directly to inspect the place prior to providing an estimate because Kebert, the contractor, said he had a good idea about cost and material. He did come out though if there was a verbal commitment to go with him and his team. Based on the other offers, I decided to go with KOD. He came out and inspected the place as other contractors did and a payment was made at 50% of the project estimation.Kebert's license checked out as official and unexpired. Not sure if insured/bonded as I never received documentation to such.Kebert's team came out at the expected time frame after he told me it would be a few weeks as they were finishing up another project. Updates were daily along with pictures/videos. Any unexpected issues he asked for permission first before going ahead to address issues.One unexpected aspect was that he requested material costs to be paid daily as accrued. After conversing about the issue over the phone, I settled to pay him daily for materials. Project hit a snafu when a permit was required per inspector and none was pulled, resulting in fine. Time frame pushed back despite being largely 90% done. This resulted in situation where Kebert requested an upfront payment to pay vendors than what I expected (50% down, 25% at 75% mark, and 25% upon completion). We came to a compromise that was fair to both parties regarding the vendors and fine. Once permit was pulled, Kebert and his team finished 99% of the job. All that was left was construction debris that Kebert said his team will clean up today/tomorrow. Overall, I've come to trust Kebert that he and his team are professionals and will complete the job. I also believe that he is reasonable and very easy to work with. I'd definitely hire him and his team again! One thing though for the future is that I want to make sure that the invoice/contract specifies how payments are made and at what frequency so that there are no questions regarding the issue.
Kebert was exceedingly responsive and reliable. He was able to quickly do high quality work. He did a partial kitchen remodel for me and it ended up looking gorgeous. I would highly recommend!
