About Eastern Bodyworks & Reflexology

Eastern Bodyworks & Reflexology provides a welcoming and professional environment for massage therapy. Clients have noted the effective deep tissue massages delivered by the therapist, who uses a firm and intuitive touch to relieve tension and pain. While the space can be noisy and lacks blankets, the overall experience is described as pleasant and beneficial. Many appreciate the unique approach, which is different from typical practices in the area. The focus is on true body work with vigorous massage that breaks down knots and increases blood flow, rather than a spa-like experience. Some customers mention that the pace is fast and the format involves towels instead of sheets, which is common for an Eastern style massage studio. There is generally no consultation, so clients are encouraged to speak up at the start if they want specific pressure or focus areas. The pressure is usually moderate-firm, using strong hand pressure and forearms, but no elbows or trigger points. Typical sessions last about 60 minutes, covering the back, arms, legs, and feet while lying face down. Many leave feeling de-stressed and satisfied, making Eastern Bodyworks & Reflexology a recommended choice for those seeking a strong and effective massage. Some suggest including a neck/shoulder massage, more deep kneading or stretching, and the option to flip onto the back for the last part of the session to avoid soreness from prolonged face-down positioning.

I came here looking for a professional deep tissue massage. This place delivered. The attendant was very skilled and did not need me to explain my situation. She started on my back and quickly identified my problem areas, methodically addressing the tension and pain points. I walked away feeling refreshed. Next time I'm in the neighborhood, I intend to stop in because she worked wonders.

Overall a great experience! Easy to book via text same-day, the space was clean, and the massage therapist was very friendly!

Some reviewers commented on the pace (fast) and format (towel vs sheet) but this is typical for an Eastern style massage studio. Different than the 'spa' experience, the focus is on true body work with vigorous massage that breaks down knots and increases blood flow. Also typical, is that there's no consultation. So if you want a specific pressure or focus area, it's best to speak up right at the start of the session.

What to expect: I'd describe the pressure as moderate-firm, lots of strong hand pressure and forearm, but no elbows...read full review

I wasn’t sure how it would be because I hadn’t heard of her before. I thought I’d give it a try and was pleasantly surprised by the massage. She worked out the knot in my shoulder blades and helped with the pain in my knee. If you’re looking for a softer slower paced massage Susen isn’t for you. It’s more of a faster rhythm and stronger technique. I found it odd that she doesn’t have you lay on your back and do your head or neck like any other places in Berkshire county , but the massage was still great. It is very loud in the room - wood floor and you can hear everything on Tyler street. Also strange there is no blankets you lay on the table and she...read full review
