“I first want to share that I live in the north shore & decided to go to cha to deliver my baby. It was worth the drive!
I was originally scheduled for a C-section on April 8th, but my son decided to come early on March 27th. He was breech, and when I arrived at Cambridge CHA, the triage team was fabulous and very attentive right from the start.

Dr. Franco saw me and was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and reassuring. We made the decision to move forward with a C-section that morning. I’ve struggled with anxiety most of my life, and I was very nervous going in—but to my surprise, during this C-section I didn’t experience the overwhelming anxiety I expected. I did not need any anxiety medication, which I truly believe was because of the calm environment and the excellent care I received.

The anesthesiologist, Jessica, was especially amazing. She had such a down-to-earth presence and really took the time to walk me through each step of what she was doing. She kept me comfortable and even asked if I wanted a Spotify playlist during the procedure. She also offered essential oils, which helped ease my nausea, and during the spinal she and the team kept me talking and distracted in the most thoughtful way.

The nurses, Dr. Franco, and Jessica all made me feel heard, cared for, and supported the entire time. I was terrified going in, but this team completely changed how I experienced birth. Everyone’s birth story is different, but I can honestly say mine was a very positive one thanks to CHA. I cannot speak more highly of the care I received. Thank you for listening to me, supporting me, and helping me welcome my son into the world with such compassion.
