I've been a Healthworks member for 5 years—these are my thoughts.
I think Healthworks is a great gym for many reasons:
- The location is accessible. Walkable, and is right next to the Porter Square T stop. Parking is questionable sometimes, but there is parking.
- The facility is clean. The housekeeping team is always working hard to keep things looking nice and well-maintained.
- The equipment and machines are well-maintained for the most part. Not everything, but overall, equipment is in good shape. A renovation took place a couple of years ago, so only time will tell how well things are maintained as time goes by.

It’s been about four years since I started going to this location.
As everyone says, it’s certainly a crazy busy gym. I’m happy they are open later now, it certainly helps with congestion.
All the services have been excellent, but I really want to focus on the amazing cleaning team. I’ve never witnessed a cleaner gym in my life. The wonderful women who clean this gym go hard at all hours! I have never gone and not found someone cleaning. I cannot get over it; lockerooms are clean, halls are clean, and the equipment is all clean and well maintained. 10/10 for cleanliness alone. It’s a phenomenal gym. The classes, the equipment, the personal trainers - can’t forget to mention the incredible spa and sauna. The 4/5 stars is due to how busy it seems to be at all hours with the exception of Fridays. Perhaps it’s still busy season post new year. Occasionally I have a hard time hitting the machines I need, they’re busy, I’ll take a round walk around the gym or hit another machine…but every time I get back to the machine I need there’s a line or someone’s snatched it already.
