My husband, Paul Tammaro, was seen by you on December 28, 2022 at Parrelli Optical in Cambridge. This visit was for routine eye examine. At the time of check out my husband explained to you that through his Medicare insurance he had a zero co-pay and no additional charges should be billed to him upon leaving. At that point you told him the he did not meet his deductible, which was not true, and also the $50.00 refraction portion of the examine was also covered by Medicare. He Followed up with Medicare Benefits and Vision Benefits and was told by them that he should not have been charged. He had further discussions with them regarding the claim and was told that the you received $65.00 from Medicare for the examination for the date of service. Per his conversations with Medicare, he is due a $95.00 reimbursement. This is the money he was over charged on the 28th of December. Feel free to call Medicare if you have any questions as they have contacted Parrelli Optical several time regarding this matter. They were unsuccessful in this as the management at that office was not cooperating.

I scheduled an appointment for an eye exam online. I need a referral from my primary care physician, in order to have my insurance pay for the exam. I arranged all that ahead of time. The day of the appointment, while at work (a few hours before my appointment time), I received an email that said "We have an opening an hour earlier if you'd like to take it, but if not, that's okay, we'll see you at your scheduled time." I had an opportunity to leave work early, so I did. However, when I arrived at his office an hour ahead of time, I was informed that they had canceled my appointment and the doctor had left already. They gave me no reason.... IF they had said "He had a family emergency/an urgent blahdyblah" I would have understood and left it at that. However, they simply said "We canceled you. He left early today. We can reschedule you." Then they made it a whole lot worse. Instead of saying sorry, and just rescheduling me... They rather dramatically said "We were trying to get a hold of you, We kept trying and trying!" which seemed to smell like real B.S. (I later checked my cell phone, they had called me only once, 8 minutes before I arrived at their office, and they said on the message they left, rather obnoxiously, "Oh, your voice mail is FINALLY working!" -_- I have never heard any reports of someone attempting to get a hold of me by cell phone and it "not working." Needless to say, I am not impressed and even though I live two seconds from his office, will not be returning.

I went to this location because it was super convenient (I'm always in Porter Square) and I just needed a routine vision exam to make sure I didn't need a stronger prescription. The woman I scheduled the appointment with was FABULOUS! Very nice and funny- I was optimistic about the actual practice before going. When I arrived- 15 minutes early for my 10am appointment- I was asked to fill out some basic paperwork which is routine. I had signed to not do a procedure involving some laser image of my eye- I knew insurance wouldn't cover it so I didn't want the added expense. It took the EMPTY office until 10:30am to take me in- please note that my appointment was for 10am and I arrived at 9:45am. No explanation as to why they were so late- as far as I could tell, I was one of two patients there and they were waiting as well. The actual optometrist was RUDE. Didn't explain anything and brushed off any questions or comments I had. He didn't explain any procedure he was doing, just told me to move from place to place. He also wouldn't allow my eyes to rest after some poking and prodding before doing another vision test. Then he informed me that he did the laser image of my eye that I SPECIFICALLY SIGNED OFF THAT I DIDN'T WANT. I was beyond livid. He didn't even ask. Then I proceeded to have to pay for this procedure which was not inexpensive and despite my vision difficulties lately, he said I did not need new lenses and to just keep with my current. I AM NEVER COMING BACK HERE- its not a legit business.
