Guest rooms are clean and well-appointed, with some offering views of Canal Street, although some guests noted issues like low water pressure in the shower and views of hotel walls. The hotel's bar is lively, though some found it understocked and overpriced. Property is nice. Room was fine. But I did get a massive amount of pushback when I requested 4pm checkout as a Marriott Platinum Elite member, which is a guaranteed benefit. They tried to claim they are a convention hotel (which is laughably untrue) and therefore do not have to honor late checkout. They ultimately relented but only after I firmly stood my ground. Quite an unpleasant experience to begin my stay.
I have to write an honest review about this hotel. I am in the industry and I found this hotel to be very disappointing. We had a suite on the 2nd floor and the windows were so compromised that we couldn't even open the blinds. Housekeeping was marginal at best. They made the bed but didn't refresh the glassware or otherwise straighten the room. In my opinion this hotel doesn't warrant an autograph moniker and maybe not even a Marriott brand. Halls and elevators were all dinged up and dark and the decor was very outdated. So disappointed.
LOVED THE HOTEL! Loved the energy of the place. Loved the location! Loved all of the staff! Loved the bar! The atmosphere! EVERYTHING! When I visit New Orleans again, I will be coming back to stay here! 10/10! All of the staff was excellent from the security, to check in, to valet, to maintenance and the bar! Everyone treated my friend and I with such welcomeness and love! Spencer at the bar felt like home! He was so kind and sweet, made cocktails so well, made great suggestions to do things outside of the hotel and where to go in the city! I made a lifelong friend! The food at the bar was good.
