The experience here was much better than the last time I came in about a year ago. Everyone was so friendly and I got a lovely style done by Chanelle. The lady at the reception, whom I’ve seen before as a stylist, was also so kind and helpful. I will be back hopefully soon!

I booked the Shirley Temple service for my 7 year old daughter, which is advertised for children 7 and under. When we arrived, I was told she would need the adult-priced blowout because of her hair texture and that we would need to reschedule for a time that allowed enough time to do her hair.
None of this was disclosed during booking. I could not find any notice stating that children with textured hair would be charged adult pricing or require a different appointment. The issue wasn’t necessarily the price as much as being told after arrival that my daughter’s hair texture changed the service she qualified for.
As a Black mother, this was especially disappointing. Your website features Black women and other women of diverse backgrounds and hair textures, which creates the expectation that your services are equipped to accommodate those clients. My experience did not reflect that message. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted!

I got a blowout done for my graduation pictures. The stylist advised me to keep it dirty and style it as it was when I walked in, but I had very dirty hair, past the point of being able to save it with dry shampoo. After she washed it, she didn’t put styling gel in it as she blow dried it. She advised to pin up the curls to walk out so the curl would hold but I wouldn’t get to see what the final result would be until I took it out. She barely put hairspray in it. I kept them in for a few hours and it looked ok when I took them out, but my friend had to curl sections of my hair because they weren’t curled. My hair looked horrible for my pictures which was really disappointing because I paid $80 to have it done. Two days later I graduated and curled my hair myself with a wand and it lasted all day, even through walking in the rain without an umbrella. I live in south Louisiana so I know how my hair is in the humidity, which usually holds a curl. I was hoping for a Chinatown blowout but was disappointed that a professional stylist couldn’t deliver even a fraction of what I was hoping for.

i was 10 min late due to an unfortunately slow uber drive and I understand that’s my fault, and it was the day before my graduation. I was told they wouldn’t be able to accommodate me as the stylist had to leave in 30 minutes. Why there’s only 45 min per person is questionable. It was 5 minutes later once I had been checked in. I asked if there was any other stylists available for the day and I was told no. I was quite literally almost in tears (again fully understand it was my fault for not leaving earlier) and imagine my suprise when they told me I’d still be charged for my appointment while not being serviced. A late fee I understand but are you serious?

So impressed with my Drybar experience! This was my first time trying and since I have natural, curly hair, I wasn't entirely sure how my hair would come out. My stylist, Ceara, did a phenomenal job with blow drying and flat ironing/curling. Had me photo shoot ready in no time. I'll definitely be back!

I have super fine hair and A LOT of it. I didnt want to use the hotel shampoo and after posting about my dilemma on reddit I was sent here. I didnt make an appointment but immediately was ushered to a seat and offered water and made comfortable. They tamed my head better than I ever could. I walked out refreshed and my man told me I looked like an actress playing a version of myself in a movie π . Even several hours later, walking around during quite a bit of wind (2nd pic) the styling held up. I'll be back during next visit to nola!

I donβt usually go out of my way to leave negative reviews, but this experience was far below the standard Iβve come to expect from any Dry Bar location. During my consultation, I specifically requested a dry style and clearly told my stylist, Tifini, that I preferred minimal heat. Despite this, she took me to the shampoo bowl and washed my hair for no apparent reason, splashing me multiple times to the point that she had to give me an additional towel. Once back in the chair, she began blow-drying my hair, but the result was very poorly doneβhonestly, I could have done a better job myself. She even asked me afterward if my hair was dry. She then started curling my hair in the wrong direction on both sides and repeatedly went over the same sections, using excessive heat and nearly frying my hair. At that point, it became clear that she lacked confidence and skill in styling. Thankfully, the manager stepped in before I felt the need to leave. I received none of what I originally asked for. While I initially wanted a dry style, I ended up settling for an up-do because I was in a rush and already unhappy with how the appointment was going. Halfway through the up-do, the manager admitted she had never done this style before and was essentially just pinning pieces in place. After two and a half hours, I left with an up-do I was dissatisfied with and a $117 charge. I will not be returning. I ultimately went home and completely redid my hair myself. I went here for convenience, and it just caused more headaches.
