HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!! This is my second time having my hair braided there, I have to say my very first experience was amazing. This second time TODAY Mrs. Abiba bedside manners were horrible..just awful. She started screaming when I ask questions about the pattern she had in her mind for me which was not what I ask for, I showed her the picture of how my hair was braided when I was there before, and I wanted the same style and thickness. I specifically stated cornrows to the back, with one single row of in the back, exactly as the picture. Nothing misleading...not all Africans can braid thick and shoulder length hair. I will not be returning my hair looks a hot mess for $100 bucks....I hope Yo-you return from maternity leave soon!!!! Just terrible!!!!!

I was sceptical because of the other posts, but I'm glad I give it a try. This was my one of my best beauty appointments. The braiding isn't to tight, but definitely not slipping out over night.

Let's start from the beginning. I wanted to do something nice for myself so I've decided to get my hair done. So i called up Abiba because an acquaintance recommended it to me. I told the owner that I would like to have mircrobraids. She told me that I would have to come up and check to see if my hair was all good to do them. It was a bit inconvenient for me but I went. So i get there and she said my hair was good for them. I chose the style that i liked and she told me that it will be $200, but i needed to pay $40 dollars to lock the appointment. I was okay with it and i asked if the 40 part of the 200 (paying 40 to lock the appointment and 160 at the appointment.) She said yes and that two people will be braiding my hair. Over all first impression was decent. she was nice but the shop had personal mail stacked in eyes view and the location was a bit sketchy. So appointment day. I get to the shop 15 minutes early and the owner wasn't there. I was okay with that because i was early. Then 15 minutes pass so it's my appointment time. 20 minutes pass still no shop owner. I look at my phone to see if she called me but nope. Finally after about 30 minutes, she arrives apologizing about her tardiness and her sister (other stylist) fell sick. I was cool about it. It could have been traffic or whatever. So she escorted me into the shop and told me to take a seat. i thought when was going to get straight to it but she says "i'm hungry let me eat first." Now my everlasting patience was wearing thin. I was like cool go ahead. I know i was going to be here for a while. As she began eating she started to touch my hair. i was surprised, but what she said next had me more surprised... "I can't do your hair. it's too short." I said that she told me that she could. Apparently, she didn't notice the length. So i asked her what could she do she said box braids. I had to walk across the street and buy 7 bags of synthetic hair for braids i didn't want. Once her belly was filled, things seemed to get going (3 braids) her sister came in coughing and sniffling. So the owner stopped and said that she needed to get medicine for her. i was thinking "She came here... why didn't she grab medicine before hand? Whatever." I stayed silent. All i wanted to do is go home now, but i stuck it out from 11:00ish am to 7:00ish pm in the same seat. no restroom breaks, no food. After it was over she said since she had to do a different style i had to owe her more money. I looked at her dumbfounded. Instead of the 200 we agreed on she wanted 230 (not including the $40 lock in. total 270). I gave her the 160 and said that is all that i have and it's what we agreed on. she sighed and said it was fine and that she will see me next time.... No... no you will not see me next time. Abiba tried to con me into paying more. The plus side the box braids were good, but the service... well i'll give it a 1/10. never again will i be in that one chaired salon nor will i recommend to another.

Rude as shit! They Canceled my appointment while I was en route at 5:21pm saying they were closing and I was supposed to be there at 5:30. Mind you their shop hours listed are until 7pm. Then had the nerves to ask if I would like to come tomorrow. No and thanks for the excellence (lack of) customer service.

I've been going to Abiba's hair shop for about 2 years now. Out of all the hair braiding shops I've been to I can say Abiba's the best! They really care about your hair and grows it. They don't braid too tight to where your hair is going to come out. They grow my hair and I feel nothing but satisified everytime I leave from getting my hair done there. Strongly recommend getting your hair done there!!! Their the best!!! Anybody that puts this place down is absolutely wrong!!!!

I had a bad experience here and I wouldn't go back, they really don't do a good tight job at braids. My friend can do it better.
