I enrolled in my first class taught by Sensei Mikami on September 10, 1968. Other han learning one of the best martial arts taught by the best teacher,it layed the foundation for dealung with the hardships of life and all that it presented. This is what Sensei Mikami ingrained in me...confidence, discipline, values, character and the way to overcome all odds. It doesn't get any better than this. Never give up. You won't find a more authentic traditional dojo anywhere in the south east United States...at least not one that is associated with LKA which is the headquarters of the JKA/AF. 60 years of history under Sensei Mikami
Trained at their old dojo on Metairie Road back in the 80s. When I went back, I was happy to find the Mikami Sensei was still teaching classes!It's a great place, homey feeling, and newcomers are welcomed and encouraged!
