In the past they used to be a lot more consistent. My last 2 pedicures felt rushed and the lady doing my pedicures skipped the massage and hot rocks. I didn’t want to say anything but that’s part of the experience and if I’m paying $75 for a pedicure with gel polish, I want EVERYTHING. I’ve been loyal for 4+ years! Long story short, I tried a new nail salon today and don’t regret it.

The place is relaxed but very nice and clean, all tools are in sealed packages for pedicures, etc. the times I’ve been I’ve been seen in a very reasonable amount of time, and wasn’t kept there forever. The staff is kind and Steven is very good at what he does. I’ve been to many nail salons in New Orleans and Baton Rouge trying to find a tech that could work with my small nail shape and recommend what would look best on my hands and Steven was able to do that. I can honestly say the set I got today has been my favorite set to date, from any shop.

I have been here a few times before and it was usually okay not exceptional. Today was no exception. I specifically asked multiple times if the style I wanted was possible on my natural nails and if the tech was able to do the design. She began by filing a lot even though I said I wanted round but as almond as possible and long as possible. She proceeded to use a base color that was too light for the style. I said from the very first finger it was too light. After a full three coats on both hands I said fine. But the manager insisted they finally use a darker pink base on top which resulted in a streaky finish. By this point I knew her ability level wasn’t going to be able to do my style. The manager insisted, no that’s an easier style. I said it was okay if she couldn’t do it I wouldn’t get it. What I wanted vs. what I got, I decided to forgo the flowers on one hand and she took it upon herself to not add them to the other at all. Probably just another miscommunication. The manager came to finish the French tip because the technician wasn’t doing it evenly. Neither one of them achieved the style. I didn’t get a hand massage or warm towel because at this point we’re going on two hours and I have a wedding to go to. They still charged me $42 for the shellac and insisted this was fair because I wasn’t charged for the French design. I’m just so irritated because I asked many times and wouldn’t have gotten this at all if they couldn’t do it. I have no way of getting it redone before my event and will have to get it redone before next weekend. I’m really disappointed and just wish they would’ve actually been fair and not charged me for this waste of time, especially considering my mom and I got pedicures which were fine that we still paid for. I’ve had a black French on my natural nails in shellac before at other places, I know that is possible and how good it can look.

Called and was told that my daughter and I could be serviced within 10 minutes. It took about 20 minutes to start my pedicure and over an hour to start my daughters. After being at the salon for 2.5 hours, her powder manicure was still not completed. I had to leave and the plan was to return in the morning to complete the nails. The technician did not show up like agreed. Another technician had to do the nails but not after calling him several times. They wanted me to wait another 20 minutes for him but I told them this was unacceptable. I asked about the 15% discount for students (on the window) which he did not give me when I paid. He told me that I did not get it because the tips were longer than the $10 fee for tips. He said for tips to be $10 they needed to be flat against nail. I have never heard of a salon saying such. I liked the lady who did my nails and pedicure but will not return because the gentleman were dishonest - not only with time but with fees.

I can't speak enough on my tech's attention to detail. This is a true spa experience. I truly felt pampered and my feet were as smooth as silk.

I stopped by Orchid Nail because I had broken two nails and desperately needed a manicure. Melan was wonderful! She styled my nails exactly like I requested and used the two different polish colors to create my “signature color” (now our inside joke) like I like them. I have tried 3 other local salons and this one by far exceeded my expectations. The music and water feature are very relaxing ?!Service: Gel manicures
