I don’t typically write these type of post —which speaks to the quality of JM Modern. I’ve been training at JM Modern for about 7 months —my experience has been awesome. I’ve learned so much from Josh, his team, Brian Miller, and the quality Jui Jitsu artists that train at JM Modern. Everyone is so welcoming and willing to share their knowledge. Perhaps the best compliment I can pay to Josh is to place my daughter’s training in his, and Brian Miller’s, hands. She starts training tomorrow and is so excited to get started!!!
I was brand new to jiu-jitsu when I joined Modern JJ and honestly couldn’t have picked a better spot. Training here has been a total game changer. Coach Josh and the team explain things in a way that’s super easy to follow and always make sure you understand why you’re doing a move, not just the steps. Classes are well-structured but still a lot of fun, and the gym itself is really clean and comfortable. If you want serious BJJ with a family vibe, this is the place.
Hands down the BEST Jiu-Jitsu gym we’ve ever been to! We visited over a year ago to do some cross training and signed up immediately. Super welcoming and made us feel like family instantly. We drive 2.5 hours (150miles) round trip 4-5 times a week because it’s 1000% worth it. They offer more types of classes with more class times than any other gym. You can come in as a beginner and expect to be treated with respect, taught a great deal by super high level athletes, and also worked as hard as you want.
