Elizabeth is my primary stylist at Anne James Hair Salon. I have been going to her for many years. She has me coming back every time I'm in Baton Rouge because she's extremely attentive, professional, and fun to talk with. She's also got amazing hair of her own! I trust her with all of my hair needs. I have long, fine, Asian hair and I often request for a STRAIGHT trim with soft layers around the face. In additional to styled cuts, Elizabeth is quite known for formal up-dos or special occasion hair. Bring in a photo of a hair style you're interested in re-creating and she'll figure out how best to accommodate your dream look. She's done my up-dos for formals, pageants, and the holidays and I have always received compliments. If Elizabeth is not available to take your appointment, my trusted back-up stylist is Tu-Le. She's a hoot and will also take care of me the same way Elizabeth would. The salon is well kept, unpretentious, spacious, and the hair washers are also nice and professional. They carry a variety of hair products available for sale. You can also ask your stylist to test them out on you during your appointment before you purchase. Highly recommended! 5 Sunny Stars!

Being new to a city often spawns new questions, such as "Where to eat?" or "What to do?" Rarely is it "Where to get my hair cut?" And though Yelp can't always help folks in smaller non-Yelp centric cities (#1), I'm happy to be the first reviewer to put this place on the Yelp BR map. Gentleman, this is no barbershop. Do expect however many more female patrons than males simply because it's a stylist's domain. This means it's bright all the time, phones are ringing off the hook, the place is clean, and each stylist is unique in their own way. Be sure to call ahead of time to secure an appointment and get a first time recommendation from the manager for a specialty or hair type. In regards to my own preference, my stylist of choice is Elizabeth. She's quite possibly the most talented of the bunch and a real pleasure to talk to. She took on my friend who, in spite of her awesomeness, is a tad high maintenance and won't get her hair done in any city that doesn't have a population of at least 1 million. Elizabeth was able to take her hair and put in some additional adjustments to enhance her look into something that was worthy of a fashion magazine. Asian hair is one specialty she has down, which is not the case for many salons in Baton Rouge. She has done well with me every time, there is never a complaint but certainly always a smile. __________ (#1) Yeah, I'm looking at you Baton Rouge.
