The first time I've gotten a massage and thought afterwards I should pull over and call an Uber. If you want to feel like you've had the hell beaten out of you (which we know is a great thing for a massage), you have to try Marta and the Atomic Elbow.

I was 20 minutes early to my appointment, but my massage still got started late. I don't know why, since I saw no other customer the whole time I was there. During the massage, the therapist kept taking her hands off me to check her twitter feed on on her phone, cussing almost every time. I couldn't relax a bit. In fact my blood pressure was higher when I left than before I went in. (I keep a wrist BP cuff in my purse and monitor my levels often.) And I am not at all sure the table had been wiped off between customers. My nephew went there for a massage on the advice of one of his high school friends after he hurt himself playing football. When he got home he told my sister-in-law (his mother) that the therapist was a "female Larry Nassar," that he was on his way to the bathroom to take the hottest shower of his life, and that he was never going to talk to that friend again. His injury was in his shoulder but apparently the therapist heard "groin" instead of "shoulder."
