My wife and I have been attending Viva Social Dance Studio for the past 14 months, and it’s been an incredible experience. We started off taking classes on and off due to busy schedules, but this summer we committed to the Beginner Bachata program — and we just wrapped it up feeling proud of how far we’ve come.
We’ve also taken a number of private lessons throughout our time at Viva, and that’s made a huge difference. The one-on-one instruction helped us build confidence, smooth out technique, and tackle anything we were struggling with — it really accelerated our learning.
From the very beginning, Mariana was a huge part of helping us get comfortable and build a strong foundation. Her patience and clarity gave us the momentum we needed early on, and we’re grateful for the role she played in our journey.
Josh, the owner, has been phenomenal — passionate, approachable, and a great teacher. Alejandro has also been a fantastic instructor, always encouraging and skilled at helping us improve in a fun and relaxed way.
Dancing can feel intimidating, but the environment at Viva makes it approachable. Whether you’re new, returning after a break, or looking to level up, the team here will support you every step of the way. With consistent practice, private lessons, and the amazing community, we’ve not only grown as dancers but had a great time doing it together.

Stepped out of my comfort zone to start learning bachata and other dances for a wedding I have coming up, decided to commit to a 6month contract, and only being 2 weeks in, I have begun enjoying every bit of learning. Even going to my first social dance event proactively, cant recommend taking classes enough!

This is the place to go if you want to learn latin dancing in KC. There’s something for all levels and interests, whether classes, teams, dance socials, or community events. Instruction is great and the community is fantastic. Their events at the VooDoo lounge in Harrah’s are well-loved, but their latest Sunday afternoon dance event, Brunchata, at Pinstripes may be my new favorite.

Great environment and instructors. They offer various levels of bachata and salsa (on 1 and on 2), and reggaeton as well! They also have classes for kids on Saturdays. Overall a great place to hangout and learn dancing, it doesn't matter if you already know how to dance or if you're a complete beginner.

Went to a class with a friend who lives in KCMO. I have no experience with dancing of any sort. It was well taught, and I learned a lot. If I didn't live in NJ, I would definitely be back!
