Received my first rounds of chemo here and they are just so super sweet. They really take initiative in making you feel special. They will stop what they are doing to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need.

I went in yesterday for something important. I got a brand new kidney transplant and it has a hematoma and blood surrounding the new organ. I was having issues yesterday and the transplant hospital told me to head to my local hospital and they would call my local nephrologist. Now we get there, line out the door everyone coughing no one being asked to put on a mask. Finally get triaged and get told it would be a 6 hour wait! The whole place was dirty, the waiting room filled with trash, triage room not cleaned between patients. We left. Never again will I go to this place.

The nursing staff on the 7th floor were wonderful when my husband was in the hospital last week. He was the patient, but I was in a great deal of pain as I am waiting for a hip replacement. They took extra care to make me as comfortable as possible. And special thanks to the sweet staff in the cafeteria. And to the staff member from Heart Surgery who got me a wheelchair and took me up to my husband's room on her lunch break. Thank you all for putting up with me.

Here with a family member for the birth of her daughter. Miserable experience for mom, dad, & family. They "miscommunicated" the rules for visits, then blamed family when we had questions about rules that changed from a few hours prior. Nurses unnecessarily were rude, angry, & threatening to the family. It was reasonable that we had questions when multiple people on staff told us something different just a few hours prior. Nurse called security when dad, who is a very quiet & peaceful individual, simply asked not to discuss the issue in front of mom. This was a major family event, it was reasonable to want to make sure this was correct. Particularly since their own staff weren't knowledgeable about their own policies. The care is not patient or family centered. They seemed to have preconceived notions of how they were going to treat our family from the start of day shift. Would not recommend this birthing center to my worst enemy. Definitely avoid this place if you are a person of color.

nothing like sitting in a waiting room for 4 hours when you're in pain and unsure of the cause so you spend said 4 hours trying to bare it till it gets to the point you can deal with it and leave the building cause all they were doing was wasting your time and causing you more unnecessary pain and discomfort by pretending theyll be with you shortly

the only reason i gave a one star is because of brea the nursing assistant from you know where. i will get to her later. i will let her read how you are supposed to handle patients, with dignity and respect. i was in for a six hour spine surgery on july 19 to july 23. dr. shaikh and his team are amazing. unfortunately i had to go through it alone because my husband is in stage 4 kidney disease and he had to go home because he got sick. i was in good hands. but i knew i had to get back home asap to take care of kurt. surgery went well. everyone on the eight floor was amazing. you all made me feel like family. even though i missed my husband terribly. i enjoyed all of our talks and sillyness. i hope i get all of you again. i don't have enough room to tell how each and everyone one of you made my day. i am going to put down your names, not in order. thank you, thank you for putting up with me and the times i was bitchy! i couldn't of had a better crew. holly, kim, ann, heaven, kenzie, tamla (tammy), jackie, abbie, joyce, lauren, shannon, cadaisyah, kash, kaitlyn for the wonderful crew in the cafeteria, i thank you for your hard work and thank you for keeping us fed....and you were always very professional on the phone and advised me well on.... . julia, jim, kendra, nichole, mary, angie, elizabeth, ashley brea...... what is your problem? right after surgery you had me sit on that recliner, you said i had to stay there for three hours. i tried to tell you that my pain level was getting high and that my knees are bone to bone and i need knee replacements plus i have arthritis in both of my feet. you just gave me that nasty mean stern glare and left the room. you never introduced your self. someone else has to tell me your name. and another day, after ann showed me how to use the walker and the back brace. then you and your narcissistic entitlement attitude came in, had me use the bathroom and sternly tell me i am not using the walker right. i told you someone was here this morning, i had drugs in me so i couldn't remember, plus brea got me so nervous i started to stutter. i haven't stuttered in years. she looked at me like i was crazy and said, noone has been in your room yet. like i am an idiot. then she tells me i don't need to wear the back brace when i am sitting in the reclinr. then the next day she is training a new girl, hope she didn't quit. brea, this isn't the military, the way you were ordering her around. you are a very unhappy person aren't you? you guys were going to give me a sponge bath. you were ordering her and and ordering me around. i am like, why do i feel like i did something wrong. brea ordered me twice to remove my oxygen tube, first of all she said it in a medical term..... i am a civilian, why just tell me the oxygen tube under my nose. i even forgot i had it there. i use to weight 300lbs i am 160lbs now. but my body naked is very embarrassing, plus i went through some horrible trauma until i was rescued when i was 19. i am very uncomfortable with nudity. i even apologized to the trainee for how ugly my body was. she was sweet, and comforted me. the wicked brea just stood there looking sternly, making sure her trainee was doing it right, that was only brea's concern. even when i was covering up my breast, she just stood there. brea did it make you feel warm and fuzzy inside to see me nervous, me stuttering, and you didn't give a crap about that tear that came down my cheek. i did everything everything on my own after that. on another encounter. i wanted to walk, and couldn't figure out my back brace, and the paddle you call for the nurse was unplugged and i didn't know how to fix it. i opened my door, there was brea and her trainy. i started trying to explain to her what i needed help with, of course i started to stutter and i knew she thought i was an idiot. i went back to grab the nurse call paddle, but when i went back to the hall way, she was gone. so i had to sit on the recliner until someone else came to help me. i love being home

What an awful experience . Was referred here by a local doc. told us the best place for us to get the best care is at Memorial if needing emergency care. I'm afraid a patient would die before being seen at this emergency room. Never have I been in such a disgusting medical building. 6 people ahead of us -- we literally watched 3 of them leave and we have been here almost 3.5 hours . Yay - we're in a room -- nurse delivered us to the room and told us another nurse would b in to do vitals ect... 45 mins ago .... What a huge mistake coming here ... wish we would of just went to the bandaid hospital Bremen or Plymouth -- maybe the care isn't as good but -- lesson learned - grass isn't greener going to Memorial.. can't believe how unprofessional the staff acts - dropping items and cussing -- speaking to other workers outside rooms cussing like it's a bar room. Scraping the bottom of the medical field for these emergency room medical workers ( professionals- is to much of a complement ). UPDATE : over 4 hours waiting we seen doctor - waited another 45 mins for just for the scrip and release paper work -- we walked out with nothing - husband has work in 1.5 hours ... we got to this hospital Approx 11:30 pm - we left around 4 am - over 5 hours at this emergency room - pain/issue hasn't stopped - spent less than 5 mins with any medical professional.

Been out or work for months. Had an injury in early February had an appointment in March, that was confirmed and approved. Once I arrived, we were sent home because they messed up their billing. "Someone was supposed to call you" well someone did, they called to confirm my appointment. So then cannot get in until late April, the billing mistake was on their end and completely covered, this scan needs to be done in order to have surgery. Got a confirmation call, showed up to my appointment and I am now being told I may have to come back at another time? I don't know who is running the radiology department but please get your ducks in a row. Just want my injury fixed so I can return to work and help support my family again

Wanted to post a review at the memorial (Beacon) hospital website South Bend Indiana website, but imagine that, nowhere could a review option be found. My mother recently was discharged from that hospital, spending multiple weeks on the 3rd floor and about one week on the 11th floor. Overall, Memorial has for the most part quality people that provide quality care. The main issue we found as siblings that spent a good deal of time in the hospital with our mother was a lack of communication with us on her overall direction and prognosis of care. Asked multiple times as to who was in charge of overseeing her entire care protocol and when would that person speak with myself or my sisters to update us on what the next steps would be or when she might be released. Got differing answers from the doctors, hospitalists, nurses, therapists, etc. We were also lied to regarding the availability of oxygen machines that might be available for home use, instead saying that she could only go to a skilled nursing facility after her hospital stay. We found out a few days before her release that there was indeed an oxygen machine of sufficient capacity that was available for home use, that allowed us to bring her home. The social workers we had brief phone communications with on the 3rd floor were also worthless in assisting us with detailed information regarding my upcoming mother's release and the options that would be available to us. Thank goodness that Wendy, the social worker on the 11th floor was able to give us the in-person communication that helped us get answers. Again, many nice caregivers at Memorial, just overall poor coordinated communication.
