After my wife died New Year's Eve, 2019, I sold house and car, bought a little Minnie Winnie, joined FMCA and became a full-time RVer. Because I wanted to be able to boondock and have a go-anywhere vehicle my two children can use when I no longer can, I had solar installed. Other than the fact that I think solar is sexy, I knew next to nothing about it. ~~~ So, when I saw that there was a speaker on solar at the FMCA rally, in Gillette, WY, I attended. I wanted to learn. And Boy, Did I Learn! ~~~ I learned how the panels and wires should not have been attached directly to the roof. As part of her presentation, the speaker, Avanti Lalwani, General Manager of Briter Products, offered the audience free inspections of our rigs. I took her up on that offer and to my dismay learned that because my solar system had been installed incorrectly, (wires and 5 panels attached directly to the roof) at some point the heat from the panels and wires would cause my roof to leak. AND one of the panels was not connected, so would give me no power. Sloppy and useless. ~~~ She invited me to come to Briter Products in South Bend, IN where she and her staff redid the solar panel installation. ~~~ When I bought the RV, most of the outlets did not work and the microwave was iffy. But after Briter installed a new inverter and reworked the distribution panel, I could use all the outlets and the microwave, ON BATTERY OR SOLAR, so I can now camp on or off-grid. ~~~ I went from inadequate lead acid batteries to four of their Ion Lithium batteries. And while there, they repaired a torn and leaking awning over my bedroom slide-out. ~~~ I learned that before they complete a job, Avanti and crew make it a point to do something special to help each RVer remember them. In my case, battery tech Jason made a special battery box for my basement and painted it Seattle Seahawk Green and built another specialty control panel box for inside the RV. ~~~ Special work done by Special People. ~~~ Because they have water and electrical hook-ups and lots of space, and are exceptionally committed to doing right by RVers, they are busy. Therefore, if solar or Ion Lithium batteries are in your future, please call Avanti at Briter Products ((574) 703-1873.) You will be glad you did.
We have not had a very long time to test our new Briter lithium batteries, but when we have been able to use them, they have worked as expected.We will definitely be adding more to this review next fall as we test them everyday boondocking. Avanti was great help as to answering all of our questions. She is very knowledgeable and if she does not know the answer she finds it and calls you back promptly. Shawn was be installer, he was very professional and did a great job. He also answered questions after the installation that we had. Shawn spent time after checking everything to make sure that it was working the way it should. We stayed until we were satisfied with everything from the purchase to the installation. They have a facility that allows you to be inside or outside that accommodates large units. They provided us with electricity and water while we were there. I would recommend these batteries and would also recommend Briter Products to anyone.
