“Clean environment. It's a black owned family salon/ barbershop. They make u feel welcomed. The stylist that does my hair Ms. Millie specializes in natural hair. She can give u a good slicked up do or long ponytail, and people will think u have a relaxer . In my opinion, she's one of the best. She really cares about your hair as if it's hers. Her shampooist is nice too and does well, too, even down to her appointment booker, they're very sweet.“

“A friend told me about Hype hair, then I called stylist Tracey for my very 1st appt. Got to the shop met Tracey, who is now my new stylist. The atmosphere was nice and quite. My hair is cut short and I absolutely loved what Tracey did with it she add a high light & height to the top and curl the rest in layers I loved. She's 10, as far as I'm concerned.“

“The salon and their owners have been a staple on Grant Street since the 60s. That being said, three generations of women in my family have had the Ms. Rosie Press and Curl magic. No one else gets your hair and your edges "relaxer straight," and Ms. Rosie & her sister Ms. Betty are sweet as pie. You honestly can't leave without a healthful juice drink and/or a hug. Also, if you're into alternative medicine, there's a naturopath on staff, as well as wonderful colon-therapy for when you're...well...you know. It's so much more effective than an enema.“
