Gary Sanitary District provides friendly and professional customer service. Staff members are patient, helpful, and explain processes clearly. One of the worst decisions was to give Gary the trash contract. I miss Waste management!!!! Ever since Gary took over. Our trash is rarely picked up and even then they leave trash all over the ground or better yet they take half the trash. Oh and the Mayor office is useless because they will not answer their phone especially the Mayor. I see hes all about money and making things look good for him but when it comes to the people in the inner city we are FORGOTTEN! Waste management never and I mean never picked a pick up, they always took the trash and NEVER LEFT TRASH BEHIND!!!! The most worthless government agency I've ever dealt with. I have been paying for trash services on multiple properties for months and still don't have a single trash can. They DO NOT CARE about serving the public. They say they will call you back and they never do. Everything is done by talking on the phone, it's like living in the 1990s. They have a new online request portal, but of course nobody ever responds to it.
It’s been a week still no trash pick up. Multiple calls, multiple missed pickup orders placed still no trash pick up. I was told by Valarie to put the freaking trash in my car and take it to a dumpster myself. What am I paying yall for if you not picking up the trash. This is ridiculous. Yall switched from republic to in house trash pick up and they are not doing their job. Nobody has any answers on when my trash will be picked up. Pissed is an understatement. This is absolutely ridiculous and the Mayor is worried about bring the Bears to Gary! Yall can’t even pick the trash but you’ll charge me for trash pick up.
