We had just bought our home, it needed to be reroofed. We chose metal for durability, its been on for 3 or so years. So far no issues, rain isn't loud like we thought it might be. ? We also had a coupon for the gutters and a leaf guard (cant remember the term),but so far, no collection has pooled, it does blow off and keeps the flow going.
