118 E Ridgeview Dr, Bloomington“I’m a student at IU. I wanted to make a drop spindle. We don’t have a lathe. I called, and made an appointment. I’ve used a lathe before, but only once, and it was a decent while ago. For a grand total of *checks notes* $20, I not only got to borrow the use of the lathe, but a meticulous, step-by-step review of everything about it. He wasn’t just ‘okey dokey here lemme put the wood in for ya, turn it on, and you can go at it with a chisel’ he was ‘I’m gonna teach you how to set it up and adjust it yourself, and also inform you about a bunch of different carving tools and their different uses so you can turn this chunk of wood into exactly what you want.’ And that I did; behold, wernert the drop spindle, made from walnut and ironwood. Take note that the work from the lathe is the only thing about this thing that *doesnt* look janky as hell.
Thank you for the lathe review, borrowing the use of the tools, and the enrapturing conversation!
Edit: and yes, it spins perfectly“

“We’re so pleased with our custom closet and built in shelves in our study. The also moved the old closet set into our laundry room - all for under the estimated price!“
