I live in the city of Chicago and when the Ophthalmologist left MedVet we had to figure something out. My dog has a lifetime condition and I had to act fast. I called Eye Care and they connected me to the Wheeling office and I haven't looked back. It feels like Dr. Wasserman and the WHOLE team there really care about me and my pet. I call or email frantic messages and they always respond in a calm way. When a pet mom is nervous and out of options the team here really help and not match my emotions. Also the cost of services is outstanding!! THANK YOU see you March 3 - Dolce sends licks and tail wags.

Ok- so I waited awhile to put this review up. I wanted to see how it all played out. My cat Canelo, somehow scratched his eye, and ultimately developed a cornea sequestrum. He has feline leukemia and also inflammatory bowel disease. He takes steroids at least three times a week. I was very hesitant with doing any procedure for Canelo. We had our first appointment with Dr. Wasserman and I was not sure about the vibe I felt from the very beginning. But I question everything and anything and I hate making big decisions and choices. Ultimately, I was told that Canelo would need a corneal transplant and that they had one available from a cat donor. It took me a few days to decide if I would proceed if I did not, my cat would eventually lose his eye. Doctor Wasserman actually called and spoke with me for about 30 minutes and then said he would give me another 30 minutes to decide what I wanted to do because it was one cornea transplant that they had. I did feel a little rushed to make a decision however, I understand why it was a little bit of a rush to make a decision because that cornea only had so much time before it would expire . I was not sure about the doctor or the place and I was driving over two hours away to have my cat seen. My vet actually referred me to a different eye doctor. But I had found this Eye Doctor from searching and searching the Internet and reviewing the reviews.. So Canelo today is doing great. The transplant went well. I can see his beautiful blue eye again. After the surgery, the team was very attentive. They called and checked on Canelo They mailed a little box with a toy inside and a note saying they hope that he feels better. They spent as much time as I needed to answer any and all of my questions. If your pet needs an Eye Doctor, this is the eye doctor you want to go to . I cannot say anymore how great this Dr and team are they truly treated my cat like a human Patient I’m so thankful that I do have Pet insurance for Canelo and that pet insurance is pumpkin and it did cover majority of the cost, I believe I only had to pay about eight or $900 out of my pocket So if you need a Eye Doctor for your pet again, this Eye Doctor is exceptional. They are rock stars. They know what they’re doing, and I feel so blessed that I was able to take my cat to this eye doctor. he was very caring with Canelo. He always wanted to make sure Canelo was not too stressed out. He did only what was necessary. I highly recommend him and I cannot say that this was a bad experience. It was sad that my cat had this injury and it was very stressful . Going through this process but believe me if you need an eye doctor this is the eye doctor that your pet should be with they will be in good hands. there was a moment I felt very unsure very scared for my cat, and I started looking around, and then I noticed all the cards and all the walls saying thank you doctor Werman, and all the stories of how he helped their pets. They gave me faith that I was at the right place and now that my cat has been postop a few months and I can see his eye again, and the cornea is healing with the transplant.

One of our girls was having terrible eye issues, that two different veterinarians could not alleviate. We brought her to Eye Care for Animals in Wheeling, and two days later, she is well on her way to feeling better and being back to her old self. We cannot thank you all enough for your time, attention, and care, and we wholeheartedly recommend you to anyone whose pets may be experiencing difficulties.
