“Even though I was very nervous about getting a sew in, it was always a protective style I wanted to try. Once I arrived at the salon, I didn't know what to expect. I was early for my appointment, but another stylist was kind and let me come inside to wait. While I waited on Akila, the other hair stylist was friendly and offered me refreshments. When Akila arrived, she was on time and she greeted me. She was very upbeat and down to earth. Before starting the process, Akila listened to my concerns and made me feel comfortable. She went on to say that at any time, If I felt any pain or discomfort to let her know and she would change the braiding style. As she began braiding my natural hair, I noticed how light her hands felt. During the process, I had to play on my phone to keep from falling asleep. When she completed the braiding process, I didn't have a headache or any pain whatsoever. Then, Akila let me know she was beginning the sewing process. Again, she reassured me that she would try something different if I felt any pain. She began to sew the hair in and I didn't feel the needle or when she pulled the thread through my braids. Not only was my hair gorgeous when she finished, but I was thoroughly impressed. My hair turned out great and I didn't have any pain, discomfort or a headache. Akila is the best hair stylist and I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you Akila!“

Within the last couple years, she’s started cutting my husband’s hair as well, so this salon has become our family salon! It has been so fun being apart of her journey, starting & growing her business and transforming the salon into her own!
