This has been my family's dental practice for generations (and my entire life). At my most recent appointment, I was surprised to learn that the practice had changed hands, seemingly overnight and without notice.
Instead of seeing Dr. Abt, Dr. Khatri introduced himself as my dentist. After a quick examination, and without offering any X-rays, he insisted I had two cavities that required urgent action. I had my doubts, because I had no symptoms and had received a clean report from Dr. Abt six months earlier.
I got a second opinion from a more experienced dentist, who took X-rays and found I only required one small filling.
As a result, I have left the practice and want to caution others about the negative experience I had.

Dr. Abt and the entire practice are awesome! They are super kind and compassionate, and really help explain the situation to ease your nerves. The office is clean, and there are great views from the chairs! Their covid precautions make you feel extremely safe while in the office. They're doing a great job!

I have been at this office over the last 10 years, on and off. The staff is incredibly nice and as others have said, the view out the windows is exceptional and so makes any work you are having done much more pleasant since, on a clear day, you can see all the way to Downtown Chicago. Dr. Abt is very, very calm, compassionate and is willing to work around as much as needed to solve issues. My complaint and lack of the extra 6 stars I would give them is due to the fact that they are not in insurance networks. I recently went in to have an assessment of some old dental work that was causing issues and assumed, wrongly, that my insurance was still taken. So, I won't be back and it upsets me because I truly love these folks and it is convenient. I am not sure what causes a working office not to take insurance unless you just want people who have money and pay out of pocket, but I am not one of those people. Thought they do have payment plans and will work with you, common things that need to be done like crowns, fillings can cost thousands of dollars. I feel Dr. Abt's office left ME, I am unhappy to have to leave THEM. I have insurance that will pay for much if not part of things I need done so it's a matter of rationality that I'd go to someone who takes it, and I can use it. If you have a lot of disposable cash then they are a great bunch.

Dr. Kauffman made my cavity filling a breeze. She talked me through the whole procedure (I learned a lot and it wasn't my first filling) and gave me helpful pointers for flossing with a crown. I have yet to meet a dentist that took the time and care that Dr. Kauffman took with me. Her smile, calm demeanor and overall professionalism made my experience very pleasant. I said pleasant. Referencing a dental appointment. Two things I'd never imagine I'd combine. I recommend Dr. Kauffman to anyone who wants to get the latest info on dental practices and be treated with the utmost respect. A+!
