Thank you for the awesome job you did on both of our piece. My boyfriend and I both agree this was a very pleasant, clean, and welcoming environment from the moment we walked in. We’re both extremely happy with our tattoos and we enjoyed the experience. You don’t get quality service like this very often, and we truly appreciate it.

And honestly, if anyone is having issues with their healing process, I’d almost guarantee it wasn’t cared for properly once they went home because the work and aftercare instructions here were solid. Amazing service all around!

What I Wanted && How I went home. Me and my cousins went to House of Pain tonight for tattoos and piercings. At first, the owner was cool, but his entire attitude changed toward me — the only Black woman there.

While he was tattooing my cousin, I asked if adding color would cost extra. He said yes. I complimented the pink and said it looked fire, but I kindly declined because I didn’t want color added to mine. When it became my turn, he still added pink color to my tattoo anyway, even after I had already said no.

After he finished, I noticed the letter “D” looked nothing like the original sketch on paper. I calmly explained which part I didn’t like, and my cousin even tried explaining it too. Instead of fixing what I actually asked for, he did what he wanted and made the outer line thicker when I specifically asked for the inner line to be thicker.

That’s when he started yelling, cussing, and saying, “Don’t talk to me like I’m stupid.” The situation became extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. After trying to “fix” it again and still not listening, I finally cussed back because I was frustrated. He then told me I wasn’t welcome there anymore and refused to provide any aftercare instructions or treatment information.

I would not recommend going there. The facility also had bugs inside, and the owner’s behavior was rude, aggressive, and unprofessional. Now I have to wait until morning to find another tattoo artist to correct my tattoo and help me with proper aftercare.

I got my ears pierced here on March 13th. I got my second and third lobe piercings done. They were very kind and welcoming, which my friends and I appreciated. After getting my piercings, I noticed that they were all very close together, and my second piercing looked way lower than my first and third. I hoped it was just the jewelry that made it look that way, so I waited it out. The jewelry they used 100% should not be used as starter jewelry for new piercings. The jewelry got caught on absolutely everything and pulled at the earring, which caused frequent irritation to the piercings. The backs they used were small clear plastic or rubber backs, and they were incredibly unreliable. My third day with the piercing my earring fell out because the back fell off. It’s almost two months later as today is May 6th, and my second lobe piercing got infected. I went to three different highly reputable piercing shops around me and all of them said it was because the surgical grade piercings they used were very bad quality, and my piercings were uneven and too close together. I asked them if my ear lobes being small is why the piercings are so crammed together to give House of Pain the benefit of the doubt since they were nice, and all of the piercers said it is absolutely not an excuse for them to be so crammed together. All the piercers I talked to said my first and seconds would be lobe piercings, and then my thirds would technically be considered a cartilage piercing to give the piercings the proper space that the need, instead of trying to cram all three onto my lobes when they didn’t properly fit. All of them told me to take out the earrings and let them close and get them repierced by someone else. My second piercing was so low and close to the bottom of my lobe, all the piercers said it would look terrible once they fully healed because my earrings would be uneven. They also said all of my piercings were way too close together and should have been more spread out. I went to the doctor to treat the infection and when we took the earrings out, they were tarnishing in my ear and totally discolored, which is what my doctor said caused the infection. She said it was cheap jewelry and it tarnished away in my ear. They were very kind people, but piercing wise they did a really bad job, and it sucks I have to start all over and get my ears redone and lose money because of it. I am incredibly disappointed.
