This place, definitely gets no stars from me. The only reason why I left a star is so I can leave this review. I walked in here expecting to get a trim, which by the way was gonna cost me $25. I asked him if he could flat iron my hair, mind you my hair is barely up to my shoulders. He said it was gonna cost me $75. So you mean to tell me my trim is $25 and to flat iron my hair is $50?? That’s crazy. No thank you!’

Tried to feel my hair to see how thick it was then quoted me $120 to blow dry. Women of color please do not waste your time.

A great quick place in the spur of the moment. I loved my girls. With my hair type whatever they did held my curls up all day. I did go home and flex rod them until it was time for the dinner party. A little on the pricy side. Only because I was in a rush I agreed on the price. I just had a wash, blow dry and curl. I did t even get to sit under the dryer for a condition. But it turned out great for the purpose

The owner/stylist is very rude and unprofessional. His name is Mike (he's the taller guy who sit to the right when you first walk in) and he's very combative and confrontational. I will NEVER give my money to any business that does not respect their customers and talk to them rudely. They also make up prices by the day and give you some silly card to track what they charge you. Just have a set price for your services! There is another shop just like this one down the street called Asma's - across the street from McDonald's on Taylor and Madison. They are WAY nicer, cheaper and do much better hair and even have better products and equipment for healthy hair, like steamers. Go to them and avoid these disrespectful assholes who think they're back in their country where they don't respect women.

They do not honor their own policies! I went in January to get a slik press; it turned out fine very few complaints about it. I was given a card with my name plus the price I paid and they told me "When you come back you'll pay the same price for the same service". Today I went in and presented my card and they told me that they didn't remember me and that my price was going to be $130 instead of the $95 that I paid last time (the price written on the card). Keep in mind that this was minus a trim (which I recieved last time) so it should be $10 less! After I express my disappointment and inquired as to why they even have the card in the first place; I was told "If you don't like it oh well leave , if not grab a smock and sit down" I left. Just keep that in mind if you have that little card; IT MEANS LITERALLY NOTHING!

The flat ironing done by Mike was dangerous. He passed the irons over the hair like 10 times because it was natural hair and it wouldn’t stay straight. About 2 weeks later the hair started looking frosted or greyish. The strands had been fried. Excessive heat. By a month or 2 later, the hair was broken so badly, a big chop was needed. This client had been growing their natural hair for years. It was past the bra strap. It honestly was too much thick healthy black hair for him to handle all at once. He kept insisting/recommending a relaxer to make the task easier. I kept saying No! After 6 hours he finally finished. The client had to wait while he took other clients in between. He suggested she come back tomorrow for him to finish. I was dissatisfied with that suggestion. I thought Maysa’s was an expert at silk pressing. Good part is*****This place is quick, convenient and an operationally well-ran business model, BUT bad part is it is Not Healthy for the black woman's hair. Which is ironic!… because black women make up the clientele! My advise to Maysa’s: please be retrained on caring for black women’s hair. Forget the ways you thought worked best for black hair ….and re-learn modern and proper ways of caring for black hair (natural and relaxed). Thank you for at least trying.

I went in to Maysa’s to get a wash conditioner a blow out and styled. I walked in at 11:12am didn’t walk out until 3:34 I am currently In front of there establishment making this review because this has by far been the worst experience I have ever had. He took 4 clients in between me because he can’t let anyone walk out the door even at the expense of his current client and not knowing what we have to do. Advertising in the window says get in and out in 45mins that is a joke I was here 4 hours and my hair does not look that good at all I am very disappointed with the services all around.
