Made an appointment to get my son’s hair cut last week. Place was cute but everyone in there seemed like they didn’t want to be there. We asked for a specific cut and even showed a picture. We wanted a mullet fade on my son. Just trimmed on the top and back and a low cut fade on the side. (My husband was explaining.) Angelica kept asking me what size cut and I would look at my husband because I don’t know anything about that. He also wasn’t too sure but she didn’t try explaining anything. She wouldn’t even look at him and looked extremely annoyed. The first thing she did was run the clippers through the whole back of his head after we just told her we wanted a mullet. The whole time she was cutting his hair she did not say a word. My son is 18 months and this was his second hair cut yes he cried, he moved and my husband and I tried to distract him. She works with kids I know my son isn’t the only one who acts this way. She did not try to comfort him or talk to us on where to move so we won’t be in her way she would just stand there until we moved. Of course the haircut was nothing we wanted, not bad but not what we asked. We didn’t tell her anything because what can she do now? She did what she wanted and why make a scene. We went to lilies & spikes because it was close to home and looked very nice, we will not be returning. Rather drive a long was to another salon where they treat my son better and actually listen to what we want. The other lady in the shop had a face like she didn’t want to be there either.

Took my son here for his very first haircut and they were so patient with him. He did cry for a bit but that's to except. It was quick service and the price is very reasonable it is a little far from where I live but I would come back.

My son needed a haircut really badly and his usual place didn't have any open appointments. I was able to call and they took us as a walk in. Our stylist was Ona? Maybe I'm misspelling that. She was friendly and professional and did a great job with my sons hair. We will most likely make this our normal hair place from here on out.

We have been going to Lillies and Spikes for 6 years. We’ve made same day appointments without any issues. We never wait very long and the stylist there are very kind and make sure the kids are always comfortable. We LOVE Ina. In the beginning I showed her pictures of the styles I liked for my kids and she’s given them consistently good haircuts, in the styles we like, for years. We have never been disappointed. Thank you Ina! 😍

I took my 3yr old daughter to there new location today 717 South Blvd. Absolutely loved it! She was so excited with the end result and even got some glitter in her hair. Highly recommend! They have the cutest little seats also: airplanes, cars, firetrucks and regular chairs.

I have an autistic 4 year old daughter who had never had a haircut. We chose Lilies & Spikes because they advertise in being all inclusive and empathetic, even though we live 45 minutes away. My husband and I waited 4 years to get her haircut and we had hoped for a positive, upbeat and patient environment. That didn't happen at all. My daughter's stylist was frustrated, impatient, huffing and puffing under her breath. There was no friendly and cheery demeanor towards my daughter, didn't call her by her name. We were very proud of my daughter because she did amazing well considering it was a new experience for her. She was just like any neuroytypical toddler who didn't want to stay still, but nothing out of the ordinary. I asked Maria, the stylist, if she had experience working with autistic toddlers and she responded over 10 years. My husband and I deeply regret getting her haircut at Lilies & Spikes. I highly suggest maybe booking with Angelica, she was the other stylist there that was super nice and sympathetic when I told her I was not happy with our first time experience.
    * I want to note that I let the salon know ahead of time that my daughter had autism and they assured me everyone was trained and it would be a great experience, which sadly was not.
*Management did get back to me promptly. They were super apologetic and understanding. They refunded my money and gave us a free haircut for our daughter with Angelica. I so wish we had her because Maria ruined our day and 1st time experience.
    * I really hope other neurodivergent families never go through want we went through!!

Brought my son on a Sunday and wasn't happy with the service.
They only had one worker cutting hair. The receptionist kept locking herself inside the closet and didn't greet any new families coming in. Kinda disappointed on how this used to be our favorite place and 8yrs later....its the worse..they lost a customer. Not worth coming here.
