Lovyn was so patient and gentle the entire time, making sure I was comfortable while carefully working through the stubborn adhesive. She never rushed the process and explained what she was doing step by step, which I really appreciated. Today me and my nephew (7) patroned this barbershop and J cut his hair. J was the most pleasant and patient barber we've visited so far. My nephew is on the spectrum and I love how J talked and ensured him he would be okay. Tony is an artist and a perfectionist when it comes to cutting hair. He will work with a customer and give them what they ask for. I have never been disappointed. The haircuts take just under an hour and the price is not cheap, but competitive with others in downtown Oak Park.

Da was efficient, no nonsense, and did a good job with my regular mani-pedi. I warned her that I'm a tender foot:I don't like the pumice sponge or cuticle pushing and think of pedicures as more of a maintenance thing than a treat. She got the job done with minimal squirming from me.

Jamie and Nolan from the plumbing team did an amazing job at my place in Oak Park. They came in and replaced the shower fixture, undertook some tasks on a toilet, and even replaced the trap under the sink. They also took care of the outside faucet and debugged several issues. Their prompt response was commendable; they arrived on the same day I called them for an estimate. The best part was that they didn't charge anything for the estimate and came back the very next day to do the job. The service was great, and it’s clear that the new management is doing a fantastic job maintaining high-quality service. I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed with their expertise and efficiency.
I called after tripping the breaker to my fridge and going to the basement to find a mislabeled mess of a panel from the 1940s. Panic!A M & L’s receptionist was very helpful and friendly. She put an electrician on the line who walked me through resetting the breaker free of charge. A M & L saved me the expenses of a house call and a fridge full of food. I consider Jeff to be a teaching and reorganizing electrician. During this hot spell, the window AC tripped a circuit breaker. I was afraid to try it again, had to get it going, as my wife is 95, I'm 86.
Jeff checked out the AC, checked the circuit breaker, taught me that this kind of AC draws a spike of a charge when started, explained that there is a reset button on the plug. I had seen that but didn't know how to use it (our son bought it for us, so he has that paperwork for it.)
He moved the plug for a lamp, so that the AC doesn't have to share.
I appreciate all those things jeff said and did.
I asked how to pay him. Jeff said there 'd be no charge. This thank you is the least I can do in return.

Fritz and George are beyond amazing! They have helped my family and I with so much! We are so grateful for all their work. The have helped with multiple house projects. Abby's installed a kitchen faucet, a basement bathroom sink, smart door bells, and the most recent project a bedroom demolition and remodel. I have a new ceiling with a gorgeous ceiling fan, beautiful crown moulding, two extra outlets and new baseboards. They painted the entire bedroom and we're incredibly clean during the entire process. For three weeks, they worked with their masks on and we're very prompt and professional. I will continue to use Abby's, no doubt in my mind they are the best and affordable!!

I've used Mary's for a number of years and have always been pleased with the service. I particularly like the fact that they send 4 cleaners to do my house in an hour rather than one person taking all day. They work hard and do an excellent job. And it's always a pleasure to deal with the office staff.
2.5 years ago our basement flooded the day before we moved in. As a first time homeowner it was an uphill battle. After we replaced the sewer line, installed drain tile, and got the rotting supports replaced we had finally resolved the flooding problems. However, there was no desire, and frankly no Reason, to celebrate.
The basement was now mangled. Dust from the unfinished concrete was visibly building up on the filters. This was merely the Battle of Helm's Deep part of our journey with much more to go. We began planning how we wanted to (re)finish the basement, called the number for Marion Street Services, and talked to Tony. He came at the first light on the first day with a few other members of his team to look at our situation. They took the time to fully inspect the basement, not just the few things we mentioned. They listened to what we had been through and were empathetic throughout. Within a few days they sent over an extremely in-depth itemized list of estimates for anything we could have wanted. Instead of playing whack-a-mole with problems as they popped up, we now had a checklist with details and rough costs. This was so immensely helpful and allowed us to put together a longer term plan, figure out which parts were cheaper than we thought, which were more expensive and worth DIY-ing.
We decided to proceed with finishing the basement floor, for which epoxy was recommended. They connected us with Jim from The Garage Store who came out WITH the Marion team and they used a laser level to see where the ground rose and sank, finding differences of over 3 inches in some areas. Instead of just pouring epoxy and calling it a day they came up with a plan to grind down the high points and trowel in material at the low points so we could have a more usable and enjoyable space at the end of the day. Kierra with Marion Street Services took care of the communication with Jim from there, and forwarded me their estimate which was more than fair. She worked with The Garage Store to schedule the work, facilitated the communication on color and timeline, made payments simple with an online link, and checked in on the progress throughout the work.
I couldn't be more happy with how the floor turned out. I put a few before and after photos next to each other to show just how wild the difference is. The floor is more level, the finish is spread evenly flush with all edges and even around the difficult plumbing, furnace, and framing.
If you have a little, or a lot of work you need to get done, do yourself a favor and get help. I spent a lot of time searching for plumbers, electricians, architects, structural engineers, the list goes on and on. Multiply that by at least two if you are looking to compare opinions and estimates. I wish I had found Marion Street Services much sooner. I have a few things I am finishing on my own, but am going to need a lot of help in the months to come. When I do, Marion Street Services will be the first number I dial, because it truly feels like you have Tony and the rest of the team in your corner.
I'll admit the LOTR reference was dramatic, but that last photo is my wife's and my first shoe-less steps in our basement in two and a half years of living here. Whatever situation you are in, you don't gotta face it alone. Marion Street Services are as honest as they come. They are there to help, not to shake you down for as much as they can. Do yourself a favor, or do your FUTURE self a favor, and just give them a call. You won't regret it.
Smith Painting and Decorating is the absolute best. Sean and his guys came out to paint our garage and the trim on our house. They were SO FAST and professional. Everyone on the team was friendly and knowledgeable. They did an incredible job and we will absolutely be calling them again.
Oak Design did several projects for me on a turn of the century Victorian home in Oak Park which had an original interior in a mission style FL Wright had popularized. In 2023, I asked them to assist in a remodeling of a small home in Barrington I had moved to. The challenge was to revise the connected kitchen and family room into a mid-century modern style. We worked together on our ideas for the look and the result was amazing. Oak Design took some photos at the conclusion which I hope they will post on their web site. Everyone who has seen the work has gushed over the quality. Dave, Bogdon and their crews are simply the best.
This is the second time I have used Budget Right Kitchens for a remodel, and both times have ended up with fantastic results. The most recent job was large and complicated in my 100+ year old house, and Dirk was great about meeting with me daily to go over changes or obstacles as walls were opened up and brainstorm solutions with me. We were able to significantly value engineer my project, even as we encountered new hurdles (i.e. expenses) so that I ended up with the majority of what I had envisioned without blowing my budget. Was every day rainbows and sunshine? Of course not, it's a home renovation, but I always felt I could trust Dirk, and we could be direct with each other which made everything as smooth as possible. we have always loved Ponzio Dental; this place is our favorite for dentistry needs, as we have had to try others due to insurance changes occasionally. anyway, aside from providing top-notch preventative care, they have gotten us in for same-day emergencies a couple of times over the years. i can't recommend this place enough.

I hate going to the dentist. I literally used to have anxiety about it. But Dr. Welindt and his staff are warm and wonderfully talented people. And he does EXCELLENT work. I’ve been to so many dentists all over the country (I hate going, but I go) and he has been the best. I highly recommend him AND his great staff.
Have you ever been to a dentist who has a chair that gives you a massage? That's just one example of how much Dr. Smith wants his patients to feel comfortable. His use of technology is amazing. He has a little camera that is hooked up to a computer. He doesn't just tell you that there is crack in your filling - he shows you where it is - magnified on the computer monitor. I needed an inlay and he took a picture of the tooth ready for the inlay. He has a computer program that uses that image to cut the material for the inlay right in his office lab. It's a perfect fit. What also impresses me are his communication skills. He presented me with a plan to show various procedures that needed to be done, the cost of each, and didn't make me feel pressured to do anything that I didn't want to. His staff is just as friendly as he is. Yes, it's expensive to have the work done, but I'm worth it!!!
Dr. Lopez and her whole office is the best! They make you feel comfortable and really care about you as a person. We are sad to leave due to moving and the office is out of our network. This made us very sad, but we are left with great memories. I highly recommend going to this office. Everyone is intelligent, accommodating, and friendly!
Seriously the greatest dental office ever. Received paperwork well in advance to expedite onboarding; waited less than 5 minutes in waiting area; waited less than 10 minutes for Dr. Horwitz to start doing the lord's work; genuinely good banter; super mellow experience. All in all a delightful day at the dentist.

I love this dental office. The staff is flexible, caring, kind, and upfront. I have two boys that were both nervous patients before we came here but Dr. Fei puts them at ease immediately. I started care with Dr Davis after being involved in a car accident last October. Prior to that I didn’t have experience with chiro and felt nervous about what to expect and how my body would respond. Dr Davis was reassuring, gentle and thorough with his explanations. The admin team are wonderful. They are responsive to missed calls and always a pleasure to connect with while in the waiting area.Deana, the clinical massage therapist, is also amazing. She is knowledgeable and skilled at her craft. She is booked and busy, so plan ahead!Although I’m not visiting the office as frequently as I was before (2x week), due to my schedule/availability, I intend to drop in occasionally for chiro care and massage therapy. As a doula, I find it necessary to receive this monthly maintenance.
This machine may have saved my life. I was supposed to go in for surgery august 11. And it was canceled because my blood pressure was to high. There’s been a back and forth between my surgeon and my cardiologist why I can’t get my blood pressure down. One was saying I needed different medicine while the other was saying it was from the pain. So in the mean time after having a very bad gut feeling about surgery my wife found this. Idd disk therapy. Being one to try something at least just one time because the pain was to much to endure. So I went for a consultation and from the visit the dr was amazing and funny as hell. He asked me since I was already up there would I like to try it out that day. And let me tell you for the past 2 days I went from nearly walking and very little feeling in my arms to pain scale from 1-10. I am today maybe a 3. As I stand here and type this. I can’t thank Courtney Malone Leipart enough for finding this. And oh ya my blood pressure went from 180/120 to 115/84.

I have immensely enjoyed learning and practicing yoga at Yoga Loft Studios. I am in reasonable physical shape but I do not have good body flexibility or core strength. I had never done yoga before in my life and decided to sign up for a two week unlimited class special to see how I liked it. Jill (owner) and her team are outstanding. There is a wide variety of classes and I have enjoyed the challenge and reward of each type. Her team of instructors provide a variety of yoga routines that keep the sessions interesting and fresh. The instructors are high energy and engaging. There are morning, afternoon and evening sessions which are super convenient. After each of my sessions that I attend, I feel like I have received an extensive work out but at the same time I feel rested and refreshed. Even if you are a novice, give this a try and you may like it as I have!
I’m a local gym owner and I am frequently getting a massage. I found Haarn on google & I am so happy I did. Nara was very kind as well as knowledgeable. She applied great pressure. Her leverage because of the massage being done on floor was amazing. Perfect combination of yoga/ deep tissue. Thai massage is the way to go. I’ll definitely be back!
Rick is great! He listens to your needs and concerns and clearly has a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have a lot of tightness in my jaw from grinding and clenching my teeth and Rick was able to massage and alleviate that tension in a way I didn’t even know was possible!! I leave his practice feeling 10 pounds lighter :) Highly recommend!

I stopped by last minute and was very pleased. It’s not a fancy spa but very clean and the deep tissue massage relieved pain I’ve had for a couple weeks on my neck, shoulders and hips. I used to manage a spa so I’ve had other tremendous therapists in the past and I give this one a thumbs up. They do charge for using a credit/debit card which is pretty typical these days.
The team at Palmgren is top-notch. This is my first experience with acupuncture and Chinese medicine and this experience has been so therapeutic healing and life-changing.
