Customers report that the process is easy and keys made at their kiosk work like a charm, smooth as silk. For emergency services, locksmiths arrive really quickly and resolve issues promptly, providing good value and good service that earns loyalty. However, some experiences note that copied keys are not always as good as the original, sometimes requiring extra effort to work or looking different. The business is suggested to everyone for its fantastic encounters, though a suggestion was made for seating at the kiosk location for customer comfort.
I went to Menards in Naperville to copy a key. The machine itself is great - once you're in front of it, the instructions and signage are clear and easy to follow. The copied key works perfectly.
The problem was finding it. In such a large store, the kiosk is tucked away in the middle of some aisles, surrounded by shelves, with no clear store signage pointing it out. I had to ask three different employees before someone finally walked me there. It's easy to miss even if you're walking down the right aisle.
Overall, good result - but the location and lack of store-level signage made it a frustrating experience to find the machine.
I had three keys made. They kind of worked in the lock. I had to do a lot of buffing and brushing with a wire brush and fine file to get them to actually work the lock mechanism. Machine didn’t seem to cut them very precisely.
Two of three keys are not as good as original one, need some efforts to open or close. The one that works does not look the same as original, as it is missing something, but it works good. I have made a key before and it was much better. I doubt that I would use it in the future.
